Greensboro has had 61 homicides so far in 2020.
That breaks all previous records. The previous record for Greensboro was 45 homicides in 2019. In 2018 there were 40 homicides, which makes it look like an unwelcome pattern.

The Greensboro City Council has released a strange agenda for its virtual meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 5:30 p.m. This is the final scheduled meeting of 2020 for the City Council, although special or emergency meetings could be held. The Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex was to host the USA Diving 2021 World Cup Trials from Tuesday, Dec. 15 through Sunday, Dec. 20. Hardcore recyclers have had a problem with Styrofoam in Greensboro because Styrofoam is not part of the Greensboro recycling program and reportedly the closest Styrofoam recycling facility was in Randleman. Now there is a solution. It’s not as easy as stuffing the Styrofoam into the big brown city recycling bin, but it is better than piling it up in the garage instead of sending it to the landfill.
