Well, I’ve been writing a column every week for the past 16 years now, but as you are no doubt aware by this point in your life, all good things must come to an end. So, while I hate to say it, this is the final Yost Column.
Every week for the past 15 years, I’ve sat down in front of my computer and written something I thought you wanted to read, but this week I decided instead to write something I wanted to write. Usually, before I decide what the column will be on, I ask myself what readers are talking about, what they’re interested in that week, etc. – but this time I’m writing about something that, I’m willing to bet, you’ve never even heard of.
Well, 2018 has been absolutely flying by – perhaps faster than any year on record for some reason I’m not sure of – and, as people on Facebook have been pointing out frequently, there are only eight more Fridays before Christmas, so you’d better hurry up and get your shopping done.
I remember, when I was a kid, I saw the animated Disney version of Snow White at the Terrace Theater at Friendly Shopping Center. I saw the scene where the prince kissed Snow White and I was like, “No, don’t tell me she’s lying there defenseless and unconscious and this predator comes along and uses the opportunity to sexually assault her.”
I was sitting at home the other day watching TV and I heard the doorbell ring. I figured it was just some telemarketer or something so I just didn’t answer, but then it rang again and, when I didn’t answer, the persistent knocking started.
