Why Kamala Harris is “Flip-Flopping”
Nonbiased media has criticized Kamala Harris for changing policy positions. Curiously, most policy changes mirror Donald Trump’s. But why?
First, she can. She was appointed. She didn’t run in primaries this cycle. Generally, most primary candidates position themselves to the extreme. GOP candidates try to be more conservative than their opponents. Democrat candidates try to be more liberal than their opponents. She is counting on us to forget. Media and voters must remember Harris’s claimed policy positions from the primaries four years ago.
Second, Trump’s policies are popular. Four years of extremism have left the country and its citizens of all backgrounds worse. She’s trying to appeal to moderate, independent, and undecided voters who are upset with Biden Haris failures. But, her predecessor reversed course on many claimed positions.
Third, and most importantly, she is trying to take policy out of the discussion. She wants voters to ignore her failed policies. She is counting on biased media to focus on superficial differences. Basically, Trump is bad and Harris is good.
Altogether, this is why she can ignore interviews. Interviews are a double-edged sword. They are an opportunity to promote candidates’ policies. They allow voters, via interviewers, to address specific concerns over a candidate’s policy. The downside is that it leaves politicians open to mistakes, gaffes, and other criticism. By mirroring Trump, she doesn’t have to promote her positions. Trump is doing this. Meanwhile, unscripted questions make Trump more vulnerable. When biased media is in your pocket and you have the same policies as your opponent being in the basement reduces vulnerabilities. She is counting on biased media to do her heavy lifting. Biased media is happy to help.
In the end, there are too many drastic substantive changes to her vision. As a result, we won’t know how she will govern or where she truly stands until after the election. As an example, her predecessor ran as a unifying moderate but governed as a divisive extremist. It’s like the jelly beans from Harry Potter. They look great on the outside. However, you won’t know how they taste until you take a bite. By then it’s too late. It might be the best or worst thing you’ve eaten.
I agree Trump’s rhetoric is popular, but he really lacks much in the way of policies (ie. specifics). In his own words, he has concepts of plans, which is a nice way of saying he has made promises with no idea how he will deliver.
I remember 8 years ago he had an AMAZING health plan. It was always two weeks away from being signed. Then left office when he was fired in 2021 and his cabinet admitted there was never any health plan. Now he is claiming to have a health plan again, and he’ll cut gas prices, groceries, medications, car insurance (lol by 50%), etc..etc… When pinned down he admits he again doesn’t have a plan.
I only trust politicians once they make a promise and offer their plan for HOW they will get there….anything else is just hot air and they are likely to drop it as a priority (like Trump) or flip flop (like Kamala). So far, Trump seems to be 90% hot air with Kamala having a bit more real thinking on how to achieve her outcomes. But nothing unique this time versus all the other recent elections cycles.

An attractive middle aged woman enters a wedding gown store and asks for a bright white wedding dress with a long white train. She explains that this is for her fourth wedding. The clerk diplomatically suggests that a beige or colored dress might be more appropriate. The lady protests her purity and innocence, but the clerk finally exclaims “You’ve been married THREE times before!’
The bride keeps her cool, and explains.
” The first wedding was great, but when we got back to the hotel that evening my husband was so excited he had a heart attack and died. My second husband was handsome, and I was looking forward to our wedding night, but we had a huge and bitter quarrel after leaving the reception. He took off and I never saw him again.
And my Third husband was a Democrat.
He just sat on the bed and told me how great things were going to be in the future”.
How many Trump supporters does it take to change a lightbulb?
None. Trump says it’s changed and his supporters all cheer in the dark.
