This is a letter to the editor from Rhino Times reader Alan Marshall
So based on the listing of permitted “eligible voters”, the State of NC has a voter ID law but you can still vote if you don’t have one.
Folks, what does that sound like to you? Our “elected representatives”, the people WE choose to represent US, to work to ensure we have a strong, safe way of life, these “professional politicians”, both D & R, have once again managed to do the famous Politician Two-Step and make themselves look like they really care about We the People, when in fact it’s more about the “who’s going to take care of ME” mob.
How hard is this? Don’t talk about “Oh, you’re disenfranchising the poor and the minorities!” “Oh, you’re suppressing the black vote, you ugly racist white man!”
MALE BOVINE EXCREMENT!!!
On the other side, I blame the majority of people (again D & R), regardless of race, sex, creed, religion, color, or whatever cock and bull category you want to come up with (we are ALL human beings), for this incredible abortion we now call an election system because THEY LET IT HAPPEN! It’s the whiny, hand-wringing, cable news watching, ‘somebody needs to do something’, non-voting majority that need to get off their fourth point of contact and get out and VOTE. It’s called a Representative Republic for a reason.
When you allow same-day voter registration, when you allow “early voting” two and three months out from Election Day, how do we expect to have anything even close to a fair and proper election? My God, even a school child can see the infinite number of ways things can be (and are) manipulated. How hard is it to put aside a locked, guarded room and store PAPER BALLOTS to be counted? Last time I checked, paper ballots don’t crash.
People can try to BS their way through, but with this atrocity eating away at a key foundation to our way of life, something that millions down through history fought and died for, and adding to it this tsunami of illegal immigration taking place, providing the (National Socialist) Democrat Party with the arm of mindless foot soldiers they need to complete their destruction of the American Dream, all I can say is God help the United States of America, because Americans don’t seem to want to.
Carpe Diem
I sign my FULL REAL name proudly!
Alan Marshall
The Democrat Party blocks all attempts to restore integrity to our voting system because they steal elections by cheating.
You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure it out.
It’s obvious.
For all their differences, republicans and democrats are in TOTAL agreement when it comes to voter fraud. Republicans believe that voter fraud helps elect democrats, and democrats believe that voter fraud helps elect democrats.
LOL !
Good one.
Republicans try everything they can to make it more difficult to vote and cry like small children when they lose given, they haven’t won the popular vote in 20 years.
OK Chris.I want you to give SPECIFIC, DOCUMENTED, PROVEN examples of your usual “…try everything they can to make it more difficult to vote…”.
And as for the popular vote when it comes to the the Presidential election, it’s the Electoral College that elects the President, not the popular vote.
Also look at the numbers being reported in the MSM about improper/illegal/dead voters that are on the rolls. Last time I checked, 100.000 is not the ‘small, insignificant’ number that you constantly whine about.
But hey, I’ll just continue to proudly be me.
The easiest example is NC conservatives wanting to remove 200k+ people from voter registration within 90 days of an election. They have overstated alleged problems with voter registrations and asked for rapid-fire voter removal program that violates federal law. The complaint is that people were allowed register without their driver’s license number or last 4 of their social. Which is silly now that we have to show ID when we vote anyway.
I assume the real plan here is to amplify baseless conspiracy theories and come Nov use them to claim the election is stolen when Trump loses NC.
What we should be doing for our democracy is ensuring that 100 percent of the eligible voters are actually able to vote, not creating false narratives, and frankly outright lies in destroying the confidence in our elections.
Conservative like you seem to love to cut people out from voting because you THINK people are on the rolls illegally. Being on the roll isn’t the illegal part….voting when you are not qualified is the illegal part and conservative love to ignore all the controls and audits in place before election results are certified by election office. You can read about them here…. https://www.ncsbe.gov/about-elections/election-security/post-election-procedures-and-audits
But you be you.
200k+…but, but, but you have said time and time again the numbers were very small. If you’re considering 200,000+ a ‘very small number’ I’d hate to see what you call a large one.
There aren’t 200k unqualified voters you moron. The Republicans just don’t like how they registered because they MIGHT be illegals. What a joke. I can see how easily you are conned by the lies on the right.
But you be you
News out today. 9. Count em…9 Potential non citizens found on voter roles out of 7 plus million registered voters. 9.
Assuming Alan is too lazy to read the article, they found those voters from people to request exemption from jury duty as they can’t serve as noncotizens. The cross that list with voter rolls. 9. They found 9 from 7+ million.
https://www.wral.com/story/9-potential-non-citizens-identified-as-registered-voters-in-nc-state-elections-officials-say/21644188/
Alan Marshall: NO ONE IS VOTING
Also Alan Marshall: STOP EARLY VOTING
I sign my FULL FAKE name proudly!
And should we not talk about poor, minority, and POC voters because:
A. You don’t care about them,
B. They ruin your argument,
or
C. A & B?
Alan Marshall is his real name.
And poor non-white voters are perfectly capable of voting legitimately and legally.
Or are you suggesting that they’re so stupid and feckless that they can’t even get themselves an ID?
Huh?
……….what?
Democrats are the racists who continue to tell us that blacks are inferior, can’t learn English or math, and are too incompetent to get a photo ID like almost everyone else does with very little difficulty.
Actually, the concern is low-income people who have challenges with transportation, internet access etc… those things required to get an ID. Low-income families also tend to bounce around a lot and struggle to keep up with critical documents such a birth certificates etc… which is of course required for valid ID. Heck it was a pain back when I had to get a new passport after letting mine expire. What’s interesting in my opinion is that this is mostly a challenge for rural low-income folks who tend to vote republican.
It’s like the wall conservatives want to build at the southern border. It won’t stop anyone as it is easy to cut through, climb over, or dig under. But it is a deterrent and will keep the causal crosser from making the easy effort.
My personal opinion is also that these folks are not your regular voters and the ID requirement will have as little impact on voter turnout as it will in reducing the fraud that doesn’t really exists. Will be interesting to see the number of exception requests that are filed for during this election. I suspect it will be very few, easy to audit and a none issues. More just Alan ranting about his party’s inability to win a popular vote in 20 years.
But you be you.
Let’s see, 100,000 in Texas, thousands in other states, with the latest being Arizona.
But, but, but The All Knowing, All Omnipotent Chris says there is no or very, very, very little fraud. Now who do we believe…Chrissy or numerous news outlets. Now who are we to believe.
As usual Alan provides no context. 100,000 what in Texas? You gave zero context for me to have any idea what you are talking about…
Chris I’ll bet you a dime to a donut that the low income who bounce around a lot will still have in their possession the necessary documents to get their EBT card or their section 8 voucher. But you be you
Starvation is a strong motivator for sure.
So is getting something without working for it.
Have you seen the size of these Food Stamp recipients? Starvation is NOT a problem they’re facing.
“Actually, the concern is low-income people who have challenges with transportation, internet access etc… those things required to get an ID.”
Transportation…if you can round up people to carry to the polls, why can’t you use the same tactic to get them to the locations to get a state-issued ID?
What does internet access have to do with getting a state-issued ID? Nothing!
“…tend to bounce around a lot and struggle to keep up with critical documents such a birth certificates etc…”
Then how is it they can get government programs such as SNAP, Welfare, and other taxpayer funded programs? And if they “…tend to bounce around a lot…” how do they manage to get all this consistently?
“…reducing the fraud that doesn’t really exists.” But, but, but. you quoted a number of 200,000+ of possible fraudulent voters. Which is is it Chris? You can’t have it both ways.
Alan, You are such a goof. Where have I said I don’t support voter ID? I am justing pointing out that for rural folks it is harder as the travel to DMV can often be over 30 min each way. But fine with me. Rural voters are more likely Trump voters.
I did check and was interested to learn that rural folk are more like to file for SNAP if they qualify than urban people. So maybe they are better at registration and IDs too.
Chris, aka nazi commie leftist Marxist libtard! I do not know if anyone else here gets sick of your facts that are really based on your stupid opinions but one thing that really really makes me want to vomit is that stupid little leftist phrase… “you be you”.
Who the [deleted] else am I going to be?
Ooooo…he used all the big bad scary words from his conservative moron manual. So scary!
Conservative hate facts. Because facts shine a light on their lies.
Bill Clinton, “I did not have sex with that woman.”
Barack Obama, “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.”
Joe Biden, “…….”, well pretty much everything he says.
Chris, “I know how the first Trump shooter voted.”
Let’s all help our boi Chris out and post some other tasty liberal lies.
* Inflation is transitory
* The border is secure
* If you take the vaccine, you won’t get COVID.
* I am staying in this race
…. just to name a few that occurred off the top of my head.
I voted for McCain. Not Obama. Too funny you couldn’t name a lie from Biden. Want the list of Trump Lies? It takes a few pages to lay em out so wanted to ask first.
I never mentioned who you voted for and don’t care.
It’s not that I couldn’t think of a lie for Biden, if you would have read, I implied there were too many to count. Here’s a couple from a quick internet search for you, dum-dum:
1) Biden’s insistence that his “Uncle Bosie” was eaten by cannibals in Papua New Guinea during World War II. The Defense Department was forced to put out a statement that Ambrose J. Finnegan was lost when his plane crashed in the Pacific Ocean.
2) When he told the mothers of the 13 soldiers killed in Afghanistan because of his pullout in 2021 that he could feel their pain because his son, Beau Biden, had also died in the war.
3) Biden has also lied about graduating in the top half of his law school class.
4) He lied when he said that he had no military deaths while he has been in office. (See bullet point #2)
I can keep going if you like. I am aware that both sides lie but, based on your comment that I originally replied to, it seems that you are indicating your side doesn’t. I’m just correcting your POV. (Chris: Conservative hate facts. Because facts shine a light on their lies.”)
Would need a source for those lies as I have never heard then mentioned.
Want the Trump list just from this week alone? Happy to provide sources. Let me know.
My source is Joe Biden’s mouth. So no sources here, just actual video of him saying it:
1) https://www.c-span.org/video/?534991-1/presidential-remarks-pittsburgh-labor-unions-manufacturing-jobs (Bosie cannibal comments start at the 20 minute mark.)
2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98tBhyYWAHY (At about the 10 second mark Slo Joe says his son died in Iraq. He did not. He died of cancer in America.)
3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NINLYfPxnU (Short but revealing video about his actual academic credentials.)
4) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wA9kHOacPvo (said it during the debate with Trump.)
Bonus video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCJMF7mflGE (Let’s not forget that he had to drop out of the 1988 presidential race due to overt, rampant plagiarism.)
Pull the wool out Chris, you look like a fool.
*********
Good job, Don!
Chris’s M.O. relies on others not checking out the truth (or even his own “sources”).
I have checked out his sources, and they prove the exact opposite of what he claimed. You have gone further and put in the time to explicitly refute his lies.
Well done.
And he is a fool. A mendacious, pitiful posturing fool.
Thanks Don. Those are fun. Good thing Biden isn’t running for office again.
Trump lies from just the last couple of weeks
– He didn’t graduate first in his class form Wharton Business School
– Cooper isn’t shorting hurricane recovery support from ‘republican communities’
– Immigrants are not eating cats and dogs in Ohio
– Kids are not getting sex change surgeries at school
– Harris replacing Biden is NOT unconstitutional
– Voting by non-citizens is not widespread problem in US.
– He didn’t win Minnesota in 2020 election
– Harris didn’t fake a pic of her crowd size at recent rally
– Biden did quickly address GA emergency aid request
– There WERE terrorist attacks during his term as President
– He falsely claimed there is no identity verification for overseas and military voters
– He has no proof CA vote counts are dishonest
– Biden and Harris did NOT coordinate the legal cases against Trump
– Kamala DID work at McDonalds in her past
Check back next week and can share the new lies he makes up or continues using in attempt to scare ignorant voters.
Never said Trump doesn’t lie either. If you recall, I was simply pointing out to you that your side lies too when you hinted that only conservatives lie.
You from earlier: “Conservative hate facts. Because facts shine a light on their lies.”
Me from earlier: “I am aware that both sides lie but, based on your comment that I originally replied to, it seems that you are indicating your side doesn’t. I’m just correcting your POV. ”
It’s like you only read what you want to read and then pretend when someone else has a point that their point didn’t really matter. Such a dweeb.
“. . . .low-income people who have challenges with transportation. . .”
So, is that why the buses in geekboro are never full. . .the people don’t want t bud ride, no matter how much it is praised by the liberals in geekboro. . . .and the liberals use their own cars anyway.
I agree that busses lack ability to provide the coverage and schedule to be anything close to effective so of course no one rides them. GSO is just to small to justify such investment.
Don’t forget many in rural NC (where there is no bus service) are as poor as city poor people. Of course, conervative love to bitch and moan when churches sponsor buses to get people to eother political events. Voting, or protests.
There is absolutely no reason why a voter should not be required to show an ID, proof of citizenship.
Thank you Tom
Totally agree with showing valid ID to vote. No one is trying to stop any legally registered voter. It is absurd to have a law, or add to a law that if they don’t have valid ID, they can vote and produce the ID at a later. Who the heck came up with this stupidity.
Need a id to buy liquor, Need a id to vote. Makes sense
Need an ID to drive
Thank you William
Need an ID to go to the hospital or doctors’ offices.
Chris, Tom and Two Kids in a Trenchcoat,
As others have already pointed out, you need an ID to buy liquor, get your Food Stamp card and drivers license. You also need a valid ID to get a phone or go into a phone store to check on your account, establish electric or gas service at your home or apartment and provide your social security number. If you rent an apartment or house, you must show a valid ID. You must have a valid ID to buy or rent a car or truck. You must show a valid ID to travel on a bus, a train or plane. You must provide a ID to open a bank account, cash a check or apply for a credit card. You can’t even stop your mail service at the Post Office without a valid ID that shows your address. Since EVERYBODY can obtain a valid ID, showing your valid ID to vote is not racist or a problem for ANYONE. (Mic drop)
Thank you Ken-Legal
I have no issue with ID requirement for voting. It is the Republicans attempt to purge 220K people from voting rolls within 90 days before an election (which is in violation of federal law) without any proof that the people are on the rolls illegally. We already have voter roll purges that occur on a regular basis to address Death, relocation, etc.. This is just an attempt to reduce the number of people voting because they THINK, these people MIGHT be on the rolls improperly because of how they registered. No proof of illegal voter registration whatsoever.
THAT is how conservative do everything they can to make it more difficult to vote. Other tactics include:
Reducing polling locations large densely populated areas where democrats are more likely to vote
Reducing confidence in absentee and mail in voting
Removing grace period for mailed in ballots received after election day (used to be 3 day grace period)
Tightened deadlines to request a ballot and then sued to delay the ballots being mailed
Changes to voting governance boards to reduce local control back to state legislative control
Kinda the Republican’s jam to blame others for their own issues and failings. Just look at Mark Robinson.
Please cite the SPECIFIC “…violation of federal law” you spoke of. Quote the law, not repeat your accusation. What they/you don’t like about it is the (National Socialist) Democrat Party doesn’t have time to find replacements.
Reducing polling locations large densely populated areas where democrats are more likely to vote
Cite your source
Reducing confidence in absentee and mail in voting
Cite your source. Eliminate mail-in voting.
Removing grace period for mailed in ballots received after election day (used to be 3 day grace period)
Simple solution…eliminate mail-in ballots. Use the absentee system.
Tightened deadlines to request a ballot and then sued to delay the ballots being mailed
What’s the problem with enforcing deadlines? “…sued to delay…” cite your source.
Changes to voting governance boards to reduce local control back to state legislative control
What’s wrong with a state level board made up of and equal number of D’s and R’s. Less chance of (NS)DP fraud.
Everyone should have a valid ID. Just makes sense. Need an ID to buy alcohol, to drive a car, to cash a check. Also what if you have an accident, people need to know who you are
Chris you are sooo full of yourself as always you backtrack in your own arguments. I can’t even begin to count the number of times you have raged about the very idea of showing an I’d to vote. You are such a moron.
I have never said ID laws are wrong. They do reduce voters as not everyone has the paperwork to get an ID. But they are far and few between and likely don’t vote anyway given registration is easiest if you have a state issued ID.
Show me a quote were I was against voter IDs.
There is literally no one over the age of 21 who does not have ID unless they simply do not want to have it. It’s too easy to get and too many everyday functions require it. And it’s free if need be. Stop with the incompetence of the lower class argument.
Chris, you’re a racist! Why can’t you vote for a black man? RACIST!
Its called the National Federal Registration Act. It requires States.to complete their voter registration purges 90 days prior to an election.
Give it a read Alan. You might learn something.
But you be you.
Highlights from the website of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice on the National Federal Registration Act.
(Challenge this source, I dare you)
https://www.justice.gov/crt/national-voter-registration-act-1993-nvra
Does Section 8 impose a time deadline on States for accepting voter registration applications and registering eligible applicants?
Yes. States must set a voter registration cutoff for federal elections of no more than 30 days before the election.
* 30 days, 30 days, 30 days…there, I met your 90 day. NEXT!*
What are the requirements for the national mail voter registration application?
The application also must include a statement that specifies each eligibility requirement (including citizenship), contain an attestation that the applicant meets each such requirement and require the signature of the applicant under penalty of perjury.
*So if you’re a non-citizen (for example, an illegal border crosser) and sign the form, you are guilty. NEXT!*
But let’s not forget this
Does Section 7 put any restrictions on how office staff may interact with applicants?
Yes. Any person who provides voter-registration services at a Section 7 agency is prohibited from: 1) seeking to influence an applicant’s political preference or party registration; 2) displaying any political preference or party allegiance; 3) taking any action or making any statement to an applicant to discourage the applicant from registering to vote; or 4) taking any action or making any statement that may lead the applicant to believe that a decision to register or not to register has any bearing on the availability of services or benefits.
*I notice you overlooked this portion.*
“Give it a read Alan. You might learn something.”
I did, I learned why my Grandfather use to tell people that tried to BS him…”I was born at night son, but not last night.”
Alan. You really aren’t very bright.
Registration is 30 days before election. Voter roll purges are 90 days prior to election. If they were both 30 days then there would be no way for people improperly purged to register, hence the 90-day federal limit that Republicans are suing to ignore.
Give it up Chris. While I have no problem with you sharing your opinions and appreciate your willingness to opine, they demonstrate a lack thoughtful consideration of facts and RESEARCH. I am also not the first person to point out that our country faces a multitude of problems created by both parties. HOWEVER, facts are facts and they don’t change just because you want them to change.
You can probably guess that I am a CONSERVATIVE, a STRONG SUPPORTER OF PRESIDENT TRUMP since 2016 and a Republican. I have lived long enough to be able to recognize the positive outcomes when PRESIDENT TRUMP was PRESIDENT and the absolutely horrible outcomes of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and her new bestie Governor Walz. Some of tax and economic policies of PRESIDENT TRUMP are similar to those of President Kennedy. Unfortunately, the policies and ideas of democrats today are closer to those exposed by Marx, Lenin and Mao. That may be one of the reasons that RFK Jr. endorsed PRESIDENT TRUMP.
There is SO MUCH MORE to say about the positions of Ms. Harris. She supports no restrictions on abortions even up to the 9th month and letting the baby die if it survives an abortion. The former governor of Virginia allowed this to happen and in Minnesota, there are 5 or 6 documented cases of where survivors of an abortion died because the doctor did NOTHING to save the baby’s life. (So much for ABC fact checking). Ms. Harris has been seen on videos chanting No Deportation. (How about that from the Border Czar). She can’t answer a simple question of ‘What specific steps will you take to improve the economy’ without droning on about how she was raised in a middle class family by her father, a teacher who taught Marxism AND she fails to provide even 1 specific idea about how to improve the economy. She cackles like a hen and offers a demure response when asked if she ever smoked weed while she prosecuted minorities for the same crime. She says she is a career prosecutor while supporting and raising bail money for rioters who were burning down businesses and a police station in Minnesota. During the ABC debate she said PRESIDENT TRUMP has no economic policy and follows that up with ‘his policy is to give tax breaks to the rich’. Well if Ms. Harris can state PRESIDENT TRUMP’s economic policy, that shows PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS A POLICY and she is flat out lying when she says he has no policy. It has been reported that her website did a ‘copy and paste’ of Joe Biden’s positions and that some of these postings include references to ‘re-electing Joe Biden’. If she can even copy and paste correctly, how is she going to run a country if, god forbid, she is elected? On the ABC show The View today, Joe Biden said that Ms. Harris was front and center and a partner in every action he took. Boy, I hope PRESIDENT TRUMP airs a bunch of TV ads showing that!!
I could go on for hours about Ms. Harris and her many faults, failures, inexperience and lies. I will leave it to others to continue to educate democrats and non-affiliated voters. As Paul Harvey use to say…Good Day.
1) Trumps tariff plan is awful. It clearly will restart inflation for the US economy, 20% across the board tariff is awful idea and congress can’t protect us as tariffs can be enacted unilaterally by a president. All to pay for more tax cuts for the wealthy while we pay more in price increases…sounds like when he gave a permanent tax cut to wealthy and temp to increasing taxes for everyone else. How is that a good America?
2) Late term abortions are rare and only occur when there are major deformations with the baby that will make survival a terrifying experience for mother and child. I am ok with the doctor and family discussing how to handle without some Monday morning armchair politician getting involved given how horrifying these situations can be for a family.
3) The boarder is now a none issue given how much the crossings have dropped due to Biden finally giving up on legislative reform. Let’s remember that it was Trump that blocked the most comprehensive immigration reform bill that was actually on track to pass until he stepped in and pulled strings to have it killed so he could still fear monger on the subject with his base.
4) She has answered very clearly her economic plan. Incentives for first time home buyers, increased taxes on wealthily with permanent tax breaks for middle class, tax credits for home building to stimulate housing supply, drug cost reform (limiting prescriptions to 2k per year), Tax credits for childcare, and restoring general child tax credit of 3k per child. You know, things that will help the average American versus Trumps plan that will hurt the average American and concentrate more wealth at the top of the food chain. You really need to expand your news sources as she has been very clear on these plans since late August.
5) Communication? What a joke. Trump can’t put together a clear sentence without side bars, deviations and getting lost in his own words. He has clearly lost his skill of speaking off the cuff as well as he did when he won in 2016. Old age is a bitch.
6) NOTE: Inflation started in April of 2021. No way that was a result of Biden taking office as he ‘sleepy Joe’ hadn’t done anything that early in his administration. Trump printed 2x the amount of new money that Biden did that contributed to the inflation as much if not more than Biden’s spending.
Go Blue
Can I ask where you got your economic degree?
” Late term abortions are rare and only occur when there are major deformations with the baby that will make survival a terrifying experience for mother and child.”
Which is it, are rare or only take place in the circumstances you outlined. The only thing you said right was it should be between the doctor and the mother.
“The boarder is now a none issue given how much the crossings have dropped due to Biden finally giving up on legislative reform.” Wait, what? I’m guessing you mean ‘non-issue’, which is wrong. As for your “… most comprehensive immigration reform bill…” would have still allowed illegals into this country up to I think the number was 25,000 within a certain time frame, then it would have closed the border (yeah, right) until the number dropped back then would have allowed them in again.
“She has answered very clearly her economic plan.”
Where is all this money going to come from? Don’t say “the rich” because nobody has ever given a clear answer on who “the rich” are. Even if you taxed “the rich” at 100% you wouldn’t come up with enough money to do 1% of any of it.
Communications? Not enough time or space to go there.
I and everybody else didn’t know there was no inflation before 2021. Thanks for letting us know this. Again, please tell me where you got your economic degree.
Go Red, White, and Blue
Chrissy is an economic illiterate, but believes himself an expert.
I don’t read the entirety of his diatribes any more, because you only need to read the first sentence or two to realise you’re dealing with a fool.
In this instance he starts out by claiming that tariffs cause inflation…
As I said, he’s an economic illiterate.
My sources since I am not arrogent like Austin and think my own opinions are better than everyone else:
https://www.investopedia.com/articles/economics/08/tariff-trade-barrier-basics.asp#:~:text=Tariffs%20increase%20the%20price%20of,for%20the%20goods%20and%20services.
(Note here that what makes Trump economic plan unique is that he is proposing across the board tariffs. Tariffs that only target limited markets or products rarely raise inflation because the are isolated. Trumps plan is however very different that it will target all imports per his plan:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2024/09/08/trump-trade-and-immigration-policies-spell-higher-prices-less-growth/
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2024-07-20/bloomberg-weekend-reading-economists-warn-trump-policies-would-stoke-inflation
Even a universal tariff wall cannot cause inflation. It will lower the standard of living of consumers by making foreign goods more costly, but that’s not inflation. It would cause a reallocation of resources within the economy, not a wholesale increase in the price level.
And it’s pointless for you to engage in circular reasoning by citing Leftist economists to substantiate your Leftist position.
There are still plenty of Keynesians around, despite the indisputable prescience of the Monetarists in predicting and conquering inflation (nod to Milton Friedman & The Chicago school).
Tariffs cannot cause inflation.
Austin, I gave you my sources that clearly say you are wrong. Have fun playing in your little sandbox with your head in the sand.
It’s your mind that’s closed, Chris.
——-
So, just for fun (and because I’m interested in economics), I checked out the articles Chris provided.
The Investopedia one is very weak for his position since they half-heartedly state only that tariffs “can theoretically cause inflation”. Even that is incorrect, but this is not the place for an extensive macro-economic debate.
The Forbes one actually commends Milton Friedman saying –
“THERE IS ONE AND ONLY ONE BASIC CAUSE OF INFLATION : TOO HIGH A RATE OF GROWTH IN THE QUANTITY OF MONEY”.
There you have it. Chrissy’s own sources have refuted his claim that tariffs cause inflation.
Chrissy banks on the fact that most people won’t bother to check out the sources he cites, but when you do, you’ll find that his sources often prove the EXACT OPPOSITE of what he’s claiming.
His reaction previously when I caught him in one of his lies was “Oops!”
In other words, he’s a BS artist.
The concept is referred to as Profit-Led inflation. Harris and Biden refer this as greed being a part of the recent inflation challenge. A good article on the concept is found here:
https://www.ineteconomics.org/perspectives/blog/markups-profit-shares-and-cost-push-profit-led-inflation
To understand how this comes into play with tariffs and expecially Trumps plan for across the board tariffs, you can read this article:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/four-ways-tariffs-drive-inflation-084000963.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYmluZy5jb20v&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAHKR6O_sUi7VbmZFdtlQF1aV2Oa5mN2n2lc5kJYdiJ-beewSJu69DCHOpF6MpU70wIAbKO5Jaad0K1n2w31onPlolsdQWUkWKQ3h_anNrK1KKopWR6O6vXCYYQVp8_c6rwQptNa3dwSfsQRhKPCC6TnULr-I7EWvapBG58ZF_T5e
I understand you have a myopic view of economics and the sources of inflation. I find it more interesting to read articles were both sides are debated and discussed. But one thing that rarely involves debate among economists is that tariffs drive increased prices for consumers. Happy to provide plenty of sources on the subject if you need help getting your head out of your narrow view of the world.
warning, these articles contain pro and con for support of the concepts. Don’t hurt yourself reading them….

There is no such thing as “Profit-Led Inflation” other than in the Alice In Wonderland minds of Marxist economists. All serious economists find the notion risible.
And don’t you dare patronize me.
Your ignorance is matched only by your arrogance.
LOL, how do you breathe with your head so deep in the sand?
Just in case the sand clears from your eyes, you can read this academic paper that strongly disagrees with your argument of ‘nuh-uh’. LMAO

I don’t take lessons from people who can’t even spell arrogant.
Or who believe that tariffs cause inflation !
You’re pathetic.
Still repeating that lie about the immigration reform bill . It would close the boarder after 5,000 encounters. NOT 5,000 immigrants being let into the country. Most encounters end in the immigrant being deported. You are so gullible. What a tool.
Tax increases fund her plan by restoring corporate tax rates and closing more corporate tax loopholes. And yes, taxing the wealthy. You have no idea what you are talking about. You are clearly just making up numbers I suppose. During campaign phase, these programs are pipe dreams (like Trump claiming he will cut cost of insurance in half….). Funding for these programs and budget forecasts take time and are always debatable. But since you claim to know….show me the estimates behind your BS statement of 1%? Let me quess….you made it up to fit your narrative. What a tool.
Inflation started to spike in April of 2021. Conservative lie that that was Biden’s fault. Name his policy or legislation that was passed or enacted in time to shift the entire US economy to spike inflation by April of 2021.
Since you are too lazy or ignorant to look it up:
Inflation by Month and year
2021 – March – 2.6
2021 – April – 4.2
2021 – May – 5.0
2021 – June – 5.4
Go ahead, name the legislation or executive action that drtove up prices starting in March of 2021? Bet you can’t.
Hint: None of Biden’s spending programs were passed until Sept. of 2021 or Nov 2021 and even then it took massive amount of time for those funds to flow into the economy. You might want to go back and look at how much money was printed under the Trump administration versus Biden:
Lol, wasn’t asking you to trust me. I gave you several articles and papers on the subject. You clearly are an old dog that can’t learn new tricks. Me I love to learn new concepts and way of thinking.
Headline…North Carolina scrubs over 700,000 ineligible voters from rolls in face of another GOP lawsuit
Chris’ favorite line: But, but, but, the number are very low!
You are such an idiot.
This is actually showing the current process works. They purge the voting registry every election cycle (especially when there are Presidential elections). It’s funny that NOW you want to quote liberal media sources who painted this as a violation of voter’s rights or something stupid. People move, die, or go inactive, etc… They have processes that they use to identify these life events and use outside data sources to purge the rolls every cycle. Nothing new. If you actually read the article and not just the headline, these purges OCCURED OVER THE LAST 20 MONTHS. LMAO
Now go read the article about how they only found 9 non-citizen voters who had registered to vote state-wide. LOL
A good article showing how gullible you are media click bate headlines Alan.

Chris, please explain since you are so open (dense) minded about all things political, and so insightful, what would happen to me if I were to lose one of my children. ?! Now tell me why I should vote for someone (the border czar Kamala Harris) that has LOST 340,000 HISPANIC CHILDREN!!!! Apparently you do not care about the Hispanic children as long as we push the party along! I’m not going along! This is a nightmare! How can you defend Kamala Harris or Joe Biden? They have both abandoned 340,000 HISPANIC CHILDREN! UNFORGIVABLE! I’ll never vote for a democrat again! EVER! I’m ashamed of myself and everyone that voted for Joe and Kamala should be ashamed too! Those two are responsible but I am to blame too!
The separation of children from their families occurred under Trump as a recall. The only children the Biden administration deal with are those that cross the border alone.
You will notice the report you are refencing states that these numbers go back over 5 years. Conservatives failed to pass the funding increase that would have allowed the regular monitoring of these kids once they are placed in care across the United States.
That help?
Bull! You only say that to include DJ Trump in the responsibility. Lets say that is true. In FY 2020 there were 400,000 total border encounters. Since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris (the border czar) have taken office there have been more than 10,000,000 ten million illegal documented border crossings and at least 10,000 got aways! Remain in Mexico was canceled by executive order on day one by Joe Biden. TENS OF MILLIONS OF ILLEGALS WERE ALLOWED TO CROSS UNDER DEMOCRATIC RULE AND THIS HUMAN TRAFFICKING CRISIS IS YOUR FAULT!
