Candidate forums – both virtual and in person – for the Tuesday, July 26 Greensboro City Council general election are popping up all over the place.

The Greensboro Housing Coalition is holding virtual candidate forums on Wednesday, June 8 for the five District City Council races and on Thursday, June 9 for the at-large and mayoral races.

Both candidate forums will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be recorded for later viewing.

The focus of the Greensboro Housing Coalition forum will be the affordable housing needs of the community.  Questions will be asked about the current housing needs, indicators of change in the housing marketplace and how to find the resources needed for safe, healthy and affordable housing.

At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, the 4 Our Future Candidate Forum will be held in the Van Dyke Performance Space in the Greensboro Cultural Center at 200 N. Davie St.

synerG Young Professionals, Action Greensboro and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce are partnering to host the 4 Our Future Candidate Forum presented by North Carolina A&T State University.

Candidates for mayor, at-large and district City Council seats have all been invited to participate. The forum will focus on equity, housing, safe community and transportation.

The League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad has scheduled virtual forums for City Council candidates at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 20 and Wednesday, June 22.

The Monday, June 20 forum is for the mayoral candidates Mayor Nancy Vaughan and District 3 City Councilmember Justin Outling.

And the Wednesday, June 22 is for the at-large City Council candidates: City Councilmember Yvonne Johnson, City Councilmember Marikay Abuzuaiter, Tracy Furman, City Councilmember Hugh Holston, Katie Rossabi and Linda Wilson.
