One, if not the biggest item in this campaign is the illegal aliens streaming across our borders. There is very little, if any, action being taken by this administration to control it, and we are seeing the results. American citizens, some being children, are being attacked and in too many cases killed, by illegals. Laws are being broken and then selectively ignored by government officials, and in some cases result in American citizens being injured or worse yet, killed. Add to that how cities are giving these illegals basically everything American citizens have to work hard for and then expecting those same citizens to pay for it by raising taxes and cutting important services like fire and police. A veteran is ignored while an illegal is showered with gifts. I defy anyone to defend this (National Socialist) Democrat Party agenda.
In addition to all this you have people who harass and, in too many cases, attack people of the Jewish faith simply for being Jewish. They take over college campuses while spewing their anti-Jewish garbage. They attack synagogues and people exercising their First Amendment rights. While too many are going to argue they have the right to protest, I will surprise many by agreeing, the DO have the right to express their feelings, regardless of my agreeing or disagreeing with them. The line gets drawn when you go from standing by yelling and waving flags to blocking access to public buildings and property and physically attacking people.
Finally, in the case of both subjects, there is and has been a problem with the enforcement or lack of enforcement by law enforcement. And I don’t mean the rank and file officer on the line. They do their best to do their job. The problem is they’re handcuffed by their much higher superiors who care more about the political view of what actions are taken. That and a lack of actual punishment on lawbreakers. The illegals are not only ignored, they’re REWARDED for breaking the law. Protestors that disrupt, destroy, attack their opponents are given a slap on the hand, told don’t do that again, then turned loose to do it again.
Hey “professional politicians” (at all levels), what would happen if American citizens got tired of the chaos and did the job you won’t do?
Remember what flying the flag upside down indicates.

The hard Left hates Jews because they are God’s chosen people.
Once you realise that the Right/Left struggle is actually the perennial good/evil struggle, you will understand everything more clearly and the World becomes less incomprehensible.
Reality becomes more consistent and understandable.
This is the rhetoric that is so divisive to American politics today. It is BS to say one side is evil just because they have a different vision of this Great Country. So when I say you spread hate, it is your comment here I refer to. Sure, we can call each other silly names and dislike each other but to call entire political group Evil is not only inaccurate, inappropriate, it is insane.
The real truth is that many on the left disagree with Israel’s approach to treatment of the Palestinians. Dislike of Israel is NOT the same as disliking Jews. Same as dislike of Palestinians is NOT the same as disliking Muslims.
But you be you.
Yet a Hitler-promoting antisemite (Christiane Northrup) spoke alongside Eirc and Lara Trump at the recent conservative fund raiser. Per MediaMatters “Northrup has promoted a pro-Nazi file that denies the Holocaust, encouraged people to check out the infamous antisemitic tract ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and has repeatedly pushed the conspiracy theory that a secretive mafia is hiding behind Jewish identity to control world events.”
Hmmmm…….what pro-Nazi, Jewish conspiracy theorist is speaking at the Dem’s fund raisers? There are certainly a number of anti-Israel democrats but being anti-Israel is NOT the same as being Antisemitic.
Media Matters????? You mean the far left organization that monitors conservative information? If anyone thought Chris was not a liberal, he just provided them wrong. . .then again, It is better to be thought of as a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Alan ranting about illegals again. Yawn. He tells you that officials are breaking the law and selectively not enforcing others, but he doesn’t name a single law that is being broken. Why? Because there are no laws being broken. Conservatives had to admit this when they tried to impeach the head of Homeland Security. We all know Trump blocked the most comprehensive bipartisan immigration reform bill submitted in decades all because he didn’t want to allow Biden to declare a big success ahead of the election. The southern border is a mess. Trump would rather that continue because he puts himself before country time and time again. Biden did at least finally make an executive order to close the border when crossings overwhelm the border patrol. But the full depth of reform blocked by Conservatives is the real sad story of politics in America.
No homeless vets are ignored. Services are more than available for homeless from both government programs as well as nonprofit organizations. Classic zero-sum game comparison used by conservatives to paint a false picture.
And last i checked, immigrants don’t receive all that we work for. They receive the minimum that humans need to survive. Shelter, food, and healthcare care. But we all know that Conservatives don’t see healthcare as a human right. So who is ignoring who?
“…but he doesn’t name a single law that is being broken. Why? Because there are no laws being broken.”
If no laws exist then why do we have a border patrol? Why do we have immigration laws, not suggestions?
“Biden did at least finally make an executive order to close the border when crossings overwhelm the border patrol.”
Really? An executive order that to do what? How about you idol enforce the laws on the books?
“And last i checked, immigrants don’t receive all that we work for.”
You are right there. The overwhelming majority of immigrants don’t (btw, there are immigrants in my family). You blatantly left out the ILLEGAL part. And when was the last time you saw where the government, local government using federal funding, buy 4 star hotels and house and feed homeless vets? I have seen nonprofits like Tunnels 2 Towers buying building for the purpose of housing military and first responders in need.
Name the law Biden is breaking. They stop and deport based on current law. Or do you want to pretend the current admin does deport illegals or do all it can to stop illegal crossing? Name the law he is breaking. Bet you can’t since you yet again failed to do so. What a joke.
Once they declare asylum, they are no longer illegal per current law. Change the law republicans! What are you afraid of? Oh right, you are afraid of giving Biden a ‘win’ during an election year. Pathetic.
But you be you.
Claiming asylum does not mean no laws were broken upon entry and doesn’t erase the fact that one entered illegally. Bogus claims for asylum are nothing new, just like marriages of convenience to skirt US immigration laws.
They really should change the law that is caught entering illegally, you should not be allowed to declare asylum.
Don’t rise to the bait.
Thanks Miller…I almost did
It’s best to ignore our Village Idiot. There isn’t an original idea in his head.
He contributes nothing that isn’t predictable, pedestrian and pedantic.
But OMG, does he love the sound of his own voice!
What a tiresome vacuous bore he is.
Knew you couldn’t do it. Not shocked. In case you need help (I know you do) give Title 8 a read. If you see any part of this legal document that the Biden administration isn’t following, let me know.
Here is an easy read link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Title_8_of_the_United_States_Code
Also take a look back at all the executive orders Trump used to scare, hurt and put immigrants at risk and see how many of those orders were overturned in courts.
Or you can just continue with your ignorant rants repeating the conservative fear mongers who claim we are a failing nation.
But you be you.
Best to ignore Austin.
He just repeats his same tired point of view of ‘Left evil Right awesome’ and pushes insults on anyone who presents a rational point of view that counters his arguments. But WOW he loves the sound of his own voice! A tiresome inane bore he is.

And yet my Letter got the highest number of responses of any Letter to the Rhino Times – 72, and counting.
The opposite of being ignored.
Wrong again, Chrissy ! Don’t you ever think that you might be very stupid?
Lol the vanity of Austin never stops. I have plenty of engagement with other here. I think the Gay Pride article broke 100nl comments. By your silly logic, that is the all time best article the Rhino ever published. Lmao
Lol, Austin writes a controversial letter and fights off a lot of counter arguments because his ego can’t process rational counter arguments. Then in his fantasy world he thinks it a compliment to have a high comment count. His vanity is comical. Heck, a 3rd of the comments are Austin’s. Lol.
Poor Chrissy. He cannot stand it that people engage with me and debate, whereas most of his tripe is ignored – for good reason.
Dear sir: Yes, illegals are breaking federal laws by illegally emtering the US, and they continue to break the law daily by simply staying here. The laws exist, they aren’t being enforced.
Amen to Austin and Mitch !
Thanks PACKFAN!

Another old man yelling at clouds…
Instead of whining and pointing fingers like a child, maybe it’s time to turn off the tv, put down the phone, get off the website, and actually live your life. You’re missing it all, being consumed by this anger at things off in the distance.
The problem that I have – and as a disclaimer I am a registered independent and I did vote for Trump in 2020 (although will not vote for him in 2024), but the problem is trying to separate the rhetoric from the truth. Is the border “WIDE OPEN”? Well, there is a YouTuber conservative Trump supporter who purposely left his passport at home and walked into Mexico, with the idea of walking back across to demonstrate the ‘open’ border between Mexico and the USA. Well, after nearly 6 weeks he is still there, stuck – having tried several times to walk across this open border. According to his own account, he nearly drowned crossing the Rio Grande, was robbed and almost killed trying to get the cartel to help him across, became injured and subsequently but temporally hospitalized trying to climb a fence, and for the most part has now called his mother (how ironic!) to send his passport and get him back home. The whole thing was a big fail and just pathetic. It’s not the open border that is the issue, it is the asylum rules. And a bipartisan law to address this some months back was shut down by Mike Johnson via Trump who didn’t support it, not because it wouldn’t help – it would have considerably – but because Trump doesn’t want this done on Biden’s watch for political points. If folks are really paying attention, they can easily see that the rhetoric is not aligned with the reality. When Trump was POTUS for the first four years, I agreed with much, although not all, but much of his policies and I appreciated that he built an administration that was pretty good at keeping him ‘between the rails’ and on the road. But since he lost the election, he has gone rogue and now surrounds himself with sycophants and ‘yes’ men, who do not always have the best interests of the collective population in mind, rather, catering to a more far-right extremism / populism centered around Christian nationalism. I am a Christian, but I also believe in freedom of religion. I think Trump has lost much of the independent vote (has never won the popular vote) and I’m one of those that voted and supported him in 2020 but will NOT support him in 2024. Yes, rhetoric aside I think Biden is the better candidate (among two bad ones) and at least as an administration that is more characteristic and representative of our real population, and frankly it has not been that bad. My 401 K is higher than ever (that was one of Trumps big talking points when he was campaigning in 2020, now it seems it doesn’t matter so much)… and my point is the same about the border. I’ve lost trust and respect for the GOP, and as an independent I am not alone. Trump barely won in 2016 (but not popular vote), but lost congressional seats in 2018, lost the election in 2020, lost more congressional seats in what was supposed to be the ‘red wave’ of 2022, and now is poised to lose again in 2024. He is nearly destroyed the traditional GOP and with autocratic tendencies while launching a ‘culture war’ that really can’t be won and shouldn’t be fought politically. Is this good policy versus bad policy or is it ‘woke’ versus ‘unwoke’? A culture war, perpetuated out of ‘fear’ of illegals and gay people, has never won the presidency nor served the people. Thank your for listening to the other side – again, I VOTED FOR TRUMP in 2020 but he is no longer the same candidate and I don’t agree with what he is fighting – essentially our own people!
Go to Mexico and walk back across with no identification. If the border is “wide open” what could possibly go wrong?
I have just one question for you…so one person tried to prove the border was wide open and basically “got caught”, yet we see hordes of people coming over and around the border wall and it appears the majority then wait around (reportedly sometimes for hours) until someone finally is able to get to them. So how does that support your argument? And let’s not forget the folks who were reportedly assisted by ISIS. Thankfully they were caught, but it makes one wonder how many others weren’t. It reminds of a book I read where the terrorists told the good guys “You have to succeed EVERY time…we only have to succeed ONCE.”
As for your comment about Biden being the better candidate makes me wonder. President Trump may not be the best, but he will be the best until the best shows up. (Clone Reagan)
Also note that the majority of current encounters lead to expulsions. Give Title 8 a read. That is the law the Biden administration follows and tried to use legislation to final modify the law and increase asylum process of expulsion to 6 days versus 6 years. He did this only to learn yet again that conservatives don’t negotiate fairly given they turned their back on their own bill in order to NOT give Biden a ‘win’ in an election year.
Or you can live in a world of lies fed to you by Trump. But you be you.
I am amazed that some commenters believe this is the place to deliver their own version of War and Peace.
We are all accustomed to that dreadful blowhard Chrissy, who never tires of his own opinions, but others should be aware that their magnificent essays are uniformly unread because they are just too long.
We only dip into Chrissy’s for a good laugh. He never disappoints.
Say the number one commentor on Rhino times comment sections LMAO
Talk about a blowhad. He even brags about the number of comments he makes to his OWN letters.
What a joke.
If Biden had not allowed this by signing the executive order day 1 you all wouldn’t be arguing about the millions of illegals who have crossed the border the past 3.5 years. This invasion did not have to go on for that long and there is no excuse for the Biden administration, but nice try. He’s a sad mess and the dems know it. It all over social media. This family and party should be embarrassed, at the end of the day he’s a human being who has health issues and it does not need to be on the world stage. The leader of the free world is modeling strength and dignity.
Biden tried to legislate the solution by updating the law so to provide a real long-term solution versus temporary executive orders that if the violated the current law, were overruled by the courts. Most of Trumps executive orders were tossed out by the courts and he would have faced the same problem had Covid not happened. Trump believes the President should be able to do as he pleases regardless of the laws. Kinda his jam ignoring laws. Even the ones he promoted such the tightened laws around classified documents. But I understand that conservative don’t believe in the power of law. Just the power of power for power’s sake.
Note, even Biden’s most recent executive order to close the border after so many encounters is likely to stand for long, as it is is already being reviewed by the courts as a violation of Title 8 provisions.
In a battle of wits , Alan, your opponents come unarmed. Good letter.
Given that Alan only rants and never provides any real data or facts, you are as cluelessly suckered by baseless fear mongering conservative propaganda as Alan.
Suckers like you two are ruining this country.
+1 Agree thanks for sharing
Here is my take on this discussion so far ….
Positive Aspects:
Engagement and Passion: Many participants show a deep engagement with the issues, indicating that these topics are important to them. This level of involvement is crucial for a healthy democratic process.
Diverse Perspectives: The discussion includes a range of viewpoints, from strong support of the original letter’s stance to vehement opposition. This diversity can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the issues.
Fact-Checking: Some commenters, such as Chris and che grapes, attempt to fact-check claims and provide alternative perspectives, which can help ground the discussion in reality rather than rhetoric.
Negative Aspects:
Ad Hominem Attacks: Several comments devolve into personal attacks rather than addressing the substance of the arguments. For instance, the exchanges between Austin Morris and Chris include name-calling and dismissive remarks that detract from constructive dialogue.
Polarization: The conversation often frames the issues in binary terms (good vs. evil, right vs. left), which can oversimplify complex topics and hinder productive discussion.
Lack of Empathy: The discourse often lacks empathy and understanding for opposing viewpoints. This is evident in the dismissive and mocking tone used by some participants.
Unsubstantiated Claims: Some comments make broad claims without providing evidence or specific examples, which can mislead readers and undermine the credibility of the arguments.
Unaddressed Issues:
Nuanced Discussion of Policy: While immigration and antisemitism are discussed, the conversation lacks a nuanced discussion of specific policies and their implications. More focus on detailed policy analysis could enhance the quality of the debate.
Impact on Affected Communities: The voices and experiences of those directly affected by immigration policies and antisemitism are largely absent. Including these perspectives could provide valuable insights and foster empathy.
Constructive Solutions: The discussion focuses heavily on criticizing current situations and policies without offering constructive solutions or alternatives. A shift towards solution-oriented dialogue could be more productive.
Recommendations for Improving the Discussion:
Encourage Civility: Emphasize the importance of respectful dialogue and discourage personal attacks. Participants should be reminded to focus on the issues rather than attacking each other.
Promote Fact-Based Arguments: Encourage commenters to back up their claims with evidence and specific examples. This can help ground the discussion in reality and reduce the spread of misinformation.
Foster Empathy: Highlight the importance of understanding and considering opposing viewpoints. Participants should be encouraged to listen actively and respond thoughtfully.
Focus on Solutions: Shift the discussion towards identifying and debating potential solutions to the issues at hand. This can help move the conversation forward and make it more constructive.
Conclusion:
The discussion around the letter to the editor reflects deep-seated divisions and strong emotions on critical issues. By fostering a more respectful, fact-based, and empathetic dialogue, participants can engage in more productive and meaningful conversations. This approach can ultimately lead to a better understanding of the issues and contribute to finding viable solutions.
LOL, Austin and I hold a special place in our hearts for each other. LOL
I find it fun but agree it is not productive. He really just doesn’t like facts as he values his opinion more than facts.
Oh well. LOL
The entire world is off course and evil. Stop blaming folks and wake up to the truth period of reality. Jesus said it would be this way, whether you believe in Him or not. Things will get worse in the evil world. Serve Jesus as He requires and pray is all anyone can do. Jesus is my forever source, protection and everything else. I trust in Him, not anyone or anything else.
