John David Borgione, 60, of Greensboro, died May 17, 2019.  A service to celebrate his life will be at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, May 22, at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel officiated by Jeff Weber.  The family will greet guests beginning at 5 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and again following the service at Rascals Tavern at 2270 Golden Gate Drive, Greensboro, 27405.  Those not able to attend the service are still encouraged to come to Rascals at 7:30 PM to continue the celebration.

John was born in Cleveland, OH to the late Joseph and Pauline Lembo Borgione.  He grew up in Cleveland Heights, graduated from Cleveland Heights High School, received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH and enjoyed a successful career in advertising.  In 1998 he and his family moved to NC to pursue careers.

John had an endless desire to serve others and was a tireless volunteer in the community serving the less fortunate.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, love of fishing and the outdoors and passion for his family.  He was his children’s greatest fan and supporter.

He is survived by his children; Andrew Joseph Borgione of Denver, CO and Jessica Borgione of Greensboro; his former wife and children’s mother, Marguerite Borgione of Summerfield; brothers and their wives, Larry and Barb Borgione and Joe and Ann Borgione; sister and her wife, Laura and Mollie Borgione; dear friend Lisa Auten of Greensboro; and a large extended family and wide circle of friends.
