Home COVID-19 testing kits in Guilford County and elsewhere are selling like hotcakes.
Whether hotcakes actually sell well may be a legitimate question – but there’s no doubt that the Omicron variant and heightened COVID-19 fears have led to a massive run on tests and a need for more testing opportunities in the county.
On Wednesday, Jan. 12, Guilford County government announced that it had teamed up with two more partners to offer new COVID-19 testing options for those in Guilford County who need to know whether they’ve been infected or not.
One new test site is near Friendly Shopping Center at 3120 Northline Ave. in Greensboro. Another, the National Institute for Molecular Diagnostics, also known as “NIMD,” is at 2216 W. Meadowview Road in Greensboro.
Due to the increasing demand for COVID-19 testing in Guilford County, the Guilford County Department of Public Health felt a need to enter into new partnerships with these two additional COVID-19 testing services.
To schedule an appointment at the Covid Clinic on Northline Ave, you can visit www.covidclinic.org/greensboro-nc.

Scott, It would be exceedingly helpful to know if these new test sites provide either on the spot results, but if not an explanation of how the results are provided – text to phone, email, snail mail or a link for the recipient. Also, a brief description of the type of test so people know whether it’s a “gold standard” PCR or an antigen test. Yes, I realized all of the information would probably be available at the end of the test but how many folks would want to wait around recognizing that the test had significant limitations and had to be repeated in the case of a positive and where that second test should be performed. I’m not trying to be difficult but I’m trying to be mindful of the concerns of people who may or may not of had exposures or were just curious.
What’s a hotcake?
Something you have to eat before you take a test
Unless you are symtomatic, the test is useless. Once you take the test and walk out the door, the result that you might get the next day is meaningless. The first person you pass or with whom you interact may infect you even as you walk out the door at the testing center.
Dave you are absolutely right. That’s why I’m STILL waiting for Brandon to SHUT UP AND GET TO WORK.
A big push for more testing means they want the numbers to go up.
WAKE UP, PEOPLE!!!
