There’s a State of the Union Address a State of the State Address and a State of the County Address, which comes later this year, as well as a State of the City address, which just took place.

And now, coming up on Thursday, April 4, Downtown Greensboro Inc. will host the annual State of Downtown Greensboro event with the official purpose of “bringing together the community to learn more about downtown’s incredible momentum and key initiatives for the future.”

Downtown Greensboro has seen its share of big successes as well as challenges in recent years, with a lot of positive growth and new entertainment venues, but there have also been concerns with crime, traffic and other issues.

The event, as all these types of events are, will no doubt be upbeat, and there are a lot of reasons to be upbeat about the city’s downtown in the coming years.
The State of Downtown Greensboro event will feature updates on where downtown Greensboro has been and where downtown leaders plan to take the heart of the city.

Also, nationally known downtown planning experts will provide updates on an initiative for the Depot and its “exciting future.”

The theme of the address is “Momentum and Major Initiatives for the Future.”

It will be held at the Cadillac Service Garage at 304 E. Market St. in Greensboro.  Doors open at 8 a.m.

President & CEO, Downtown Greensboro, Inc. Zack Matheny, and Deputy Director of Denver Operations for MIG Mark De La Torre will be the featured speakers.
