2021 Wyndham Championship week at Sedgefield Country Club is here with one of the best fields ever.

The 2020 Wyndham was played without fans on the course, but in 2021 from Wednesday Aug. 11 to Sunday, Aug.15, 15,000 fans a day will be allowed on the course to watch some of the best golfers in the world do what they do best.

As Wyndham Tournament Director Mark Brazil predicted a number of the top players committed just before the August 6 deadline and the tournament field now includes the 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama who will be making his seventh appearance at the Wyndham.

Patrick Reed, the 2018 Masters champion and Zach Johnson the 2007 Masters champion were also late additions to the field joining Masters winner Bubba Watson who had committed earlier.

Johnson, a 12 time PGA TOUR winner won the US Open championship in 2015 and has played in five previous Wyndham Championship tournaments.

Fan favorite Ricky Fowler and Louis Oosthuizen along with major winners Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Francesco Molinari, Gary Woodland, Charl Schwartzel and European Ryder Cup Captain and three time major winner Padraig Harrington will also be at Sedgefield this week.

Web Simpson, the 2011 Wyndham champion and 2012 US Open champion who grew up in Raleigh and played for Wake Forest will be back and is a local crowd favorite.

Two time Wyndham champion Brandt Snedeker will be trying for a third in 2021.

Defending champion Jim Herman and former Wyndham champions Si Woo Kim, J.T. Poston, Ryan Moore and K.J. Choi, East Carolina University alum Harold Varner III and Matt Kuchar are all in the tournament field.

Those playing with sponsor exemptions include 2011 FedEx Cup champion Bill Haas, Duke University alum Alex Smalley, University of Georgia alum and SEC Player of the Year Davis Thompson, 2014 Wyndham Championship winner Camilo Villegas and Wake Forest alum Will Zalatoris.
