For those hesitant to get the COVID-19 vaccine or who just haven’t gotten around to it yet, here is an extra incentive – a free hamburger.

The World of Beer Bar & Kitchen at 1310 Westover Terrace is offering a free hamburger on Wednesday, April 7 to anyone who shows proof they have received their COVID-19 vaccination.

Those who have proof of vaccination will receive the restaurant’s new “Black n’ Blue Burger” free of charge.

World of Beer has been trying this “Vaccinated Eat Free” promotion at various restaurants since February and it has proved so successful they have decided that on April 7 they are going to offer this promotion at all 50 World of Beer locations.

James Buell, the chief brand and innovation officer for World of Beer, in a press release said, “2020 was a year that we all are ready to move on from, and we are thrilled to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.  What better way to celebrate and spread a little joy that to offer up our newest burger for free to anyone who has been fortunate enough to receive a life-saving vaccine.  Let the healing begin!”

The Black n’ Blue Burger is a blackened Angus beef burger, loaded with Danish blue cheese, crispy onions, shredded lettuce and garlic mayo on a toasted brioche bun.  According to World of Beer the Black n’ Blue Burger is “guaranteed to heal the soul.”  And after the past year, it would be difficult to find a soul that didn’t need some healing.

Under the current COVID-19 restrictions mandated by Gov. Roy Cooper, restaurants can operate at 75 percent of their official indoor capacity and outdoors at 100 percent capacity.  Masks are required for those not actively eating or drinking.
