People can argue about which musical hits over the years have had the tendency to get stuck in people’s heads the most, but any such discussion would have to include the very sticky tune “Conjunction Junction.”
No matter what the function of Conjunction Junction is, the song has staying power for both kids and adults. And now those who want to hear that and other didactic hits have a chance to: The High Point Theatre is hosting the “morning cartoon series turned hit musical show” Schoolhouse Rock Live! next month.
On Friday, Nov. 5, there will be two shows – one at 10 a.m. and, for the kids who don’t have an early bedtime, one at 7 p.m.
The Emmy Award-winning Saturday morning cartoon series from the ’70s is remembered for its music and for teaching history, grammar, math and more through its songs. According to the show’s promoters, the new performance is “lighting up stages everywhere” and School House Rock Live! is “the perfect blend of entertainment and education for audiences of all ages.”
Show goers will get to hear the timeless hits like “Conjunction Junction,” “Just a Bill” and “Verb: That’s What’s Happening.”
Tickets are available either in person at the box office or over the phone by calling 336-887-3001. Go by or call from Monday through Friday, between noon and 5 p.m.
Tickets can also be bought online 24/7.
Anyone can buy tickets and attend, but High Point residents get a special break. Discounts of $5 per ticket are available for High Point residents. To get that deal, call the box office directly; those city resident discounts aren’t available online.
