North Elm Street in Greensboro will be smokin’ on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Starting at 4 p.m., and lasting well into the evening, the new Smohk’d restaurant will be holding its official ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony followed by what the promoters are promising to be “a huge party.”

The new restaurant, which is billed as a meat lovers’ paradise – with a wide variety of meats smoked on-site daily – also features some items for vegetarians.

The restaurant is at 403 N. Elm St., which is the spot previously occupied by Ganache Bakery & Cafe and LaRue restaurant.

On Wednesday, following the grand opening ceremony, the Band Unwritten will perform from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.   As usual with a restaurant ribbon-cutting and party, there will also be plenty of other festivities and giveaways including door prizes as well as some grand opening drink specials for those who are already in the holiday spirit.

The restaurant began hiring staff two months ago and held a “Friends and Family Night” last month to get things rolling, but the Wednesday event this week is open to everyone.
