The Guilford County Sheriff’s Department reported at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, that it – along with multiple law enforcement agencies – is seeking a Guilford County man on the loose who’s wanted for the murder of a woman in Robeson County.

The Greensboro Police are also involved with that manhunt.

Alvino R. Wilson, 45, of Whitsett, is wanted for first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The charges emanate from the death of 36-year-old Shaunta Jones of Fayetteville, NC.

On Monday, Sept.16, at about 12:15 a.m. Robeson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call at 823 Britt Road in. St. Pauls, NC in regard to a shooting.

Jones was already dead when the deputies arrived on the scene.

St. Pauls is a small town just south of Fayetteville with a population of a few thousand people.

A host of law enforcement agencies is attempting to capture Jone with a coordinated effort.  Though he lived in Whitsett, it’s not known if he’s currently in Guilford County, but local law enforcement is asking citizens to be on the lookout for the man pictured above.

The case is being investigated by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division. the Fayetteville Police Department, the Greensboro Police Department, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Northern Piedmont District of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

Wilson is considered armed and dangerous.
