A Greensboro man already being held on kidnapping and armed robbery charges is now facing additional charges including first-degree rape stemming from an August incident at a Greensboro motel.

The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday, Oct. 6, that 36-year-old Justin Xavier Chambers had been charged with felony first-degree rape, felony first-degree kidnapping and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies and detectives with the Major Crimes Investigative Unit responded to the Bravo Inn at 3901 Osborne Road at about 4 a.m. on Aug. 1 after receiving a report of a rape and robbery.

The victim told investigators that she had been raped and robbed at gunpoint of approximately $200.

The Sheriff’s Office said Chambers then robbed four additional victims at four separate locations in Greensboro.

Later that day, Chambers was arrested by the Greensboro Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.

That arrest resulted in four counts of felony first-degree kidnapping, four counts of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, four counts of felony possession of a firearm by a felon and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.

On Tuesday, Guilford County Sheriff’s Office detectives served Chambers at the Greensboro Detention Center with the additional warrants for rape, kidnapping and armed robbery resulting from the Sheriff’s Office investigation.

Chambers remains in the Greensboro jail without bond under the state’s Pretrial Integrity Act.

His first appearance on the new Guilford County Sheriff’s Office charges is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office said it will continue working with the Greensboro Police Department and the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office as the investigation continues.
