For those who have their garbage and recycling picked up on Mondays and Tuesdays, the schedule for the next two weeks is going to change.

With both Christmas and New Year’s Day coming on Monday for the last week of 2023 and the first week of 2024, collections will be a day late.

Residents who have Monday collections will have their garbage, recycling and yard waste collected on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.

Residents who are scheduled for Tuesday collections will have their collections on Wednesday, Dec. 27 and Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024.

The collection schedule for residents with Thursday and Friday collections will not change due to the holidays.

City offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 through Wed. Dec. 27 and Monday, Jan. 1.

The White Street Landfill and the Solid Waste Transfer Station will be closed Saturday Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 25 and on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024. However, the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will only be closed on Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

The Greensboro Public Library system and the Greensboro History Museum will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 through Wednesday Dec. 27 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

The Greensboro Transit Agency (GTA) an Access GSO will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

However, GTA and Access GSO have free fares on Saturday, Dec. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 31.

The Parks and Recreation Department administrative offices are closed Monday, Dec. 25 through Wednesday, Dec. 27 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

Regional Parks including Barber, Country, Hester, Keeley and Price, and botanical gardens including the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden, the Greensboro Arboretum, the Bog Garden and Gateway Gardens will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25.

All recreation centers including Smith and Trotter Active Adult Centers and Xperience @ Caldcleugh will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 through Wednesday, Dec. 27 and on Monday, Jan. 1. In addition, Griffin Recreation Center will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 31.

Brandt, Higgins and Townsend lakes will be closed Sunday, Dec. 24, Monday Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

Gillespie Golf Course will close at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24 and be closed on Monday, Dec. 25.
