On Thursday, Oct. 19, the High Point Rockers Baseball Team – along with the Atlantic League – announced the Rockers’ 2024 schedule.

Area fans will be glad to know that there will be 63 games at Truist Point stadium during what will be the league’s 26th season and the Rocker’s fifth.

Truist Point stadium was built in downtown High Point as a cornerstone for bringing back life to the struggling downtown. The stadium is being used for a multitude of events and soon the town will have a new professional soccer team using the venue as well.  But that makes scheduling more difficult than it would be if the Rockers were the only game in town.

The Rockers will open their fifth season at the Lexington Counter Clocks on Thursday, April 25 with a four-game series. High Point’s home opener is slated for Tuesday, April 30 against the Charleston Dirty Birds.

The 126-game season will wrap up on Sunday, Sept. 15.

There will be plenty of good games to see over the July 4th holiday.  High Point will be at home the first week of July, hosting Gastonia on July 3 and 4 before Lexington comes to Truist Point on July 5.

The Rockers will also have a home game on Mother’s Day, May 12.

The Rockers, in the South Division, will play 96 games against South Division opponents while playing 30 times against teams from the North Division.

In the coming 2024 season, the Atlantic League will move the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs from the North to the South in order to make room in the North Division for newcomer Hagerstown.

The Rockers will play 27 games against their in-state rival, the Gastonia Honey Hunters. The Rockers or the Honey Hunters have won each of the last four half-season pennants dating back to the start of the 2022 season.

In 2023, the Rockers advanced to the Division Championship Series before losing in five games to Gastonia.

High Point has qualified for the playoffs in three of its first four seasons.

Rockers President Pete Fisch said there will be plenty to see besides baseball next summer.

“We are excited to announce the schedule and we are actively planning a full range of promotional days and community events,” he said. “We will again feature Fireworks Fridays and another exciting celebration around July 4 along with a number of special events throughout the season.”
