If you don’t have a date yet for Valentine’s Day and you live in Greensboro, you’re not likely to find your dream date anytime soon, based on the results of a national survey that ranked Greensboro near the bottom of the list when it comes to singles’ “overall satisfaction with dating opportunities.”

In honor of the day of romance that arrives on Friday, Apartment List – a company that uses technology to help renters find apartments and vice versa – conducted a survey which asked 20,000 single renters from cities and metro areas around the country this question: “How would you rate your current city or neighborhood for opportunities to date?”

When the results were tallied, Greensboro ranked 71st out of the 86 areas covered by the survey.

Only 19 percent of Greensboro singles reported that they were satisfied with the dating opportunities in their city.

If you’re lonely and live in Greensboro, you might want to think about moving to Provo, Utah, which ranked as the top metro area for dating, with 48 percent of singles there reporting satisfaction with the dating opportunities.

Greensboro singles can at least be happy they don’t live in North Port, Florida, which came in at last place with a meager 5 percent of singles satisfied.

For those lonely people who don’t want to move all the way to Utah, the number two and three spots went to some communities not far from Greensboro: Richmond, Virginia, came in second, and, coming in third was Raleigh, where 42 percent of single renters reported being satisfied with selection of other singles there.

For what it’s worth, overall, according to the survey, men tend to view their dating experiences more positively than women. On average, 31 percent of male survey responders stated they were satisfied with their opportunities, while only 22 percent of women were.
