If you want to get wet and wild this summer your best bet is probably to head out to Emerald Pointe; however, if you just want to get wet and cool down – without getting too wild – then a city pool might be just the ticket for you.

On Tuesday, April 9, the City of Greensboro released its latest pool and aquatic schedule along with other info so you can be prepared – since summer, of course, will be here before you know it.

The city’s pools and spraygrounds will be admission-free once again for the 2024 summer season.

Also, like many local governments and private pools, the City of Greensboro is looking for summer help – especially lifeguards. So, if you want a summer job, check out the city’s website for seasonal openings.

The Barber Park and Keeley Park spraygrounds and Warnersville and Windsor pools are undergoing routine offseason maintenance right now but will be opening up on Saturday, May 25.  (The only caveat is that the openings are dependent on the approval of the Guilford County Health Department’s inspections and permitting folks.)

There is some very disappointing news in the schedule.

City officials note that, unfortunately, “Due to ongoing maintenance and repairs, Lindley Pool will remain closed during the 2024 season. Peeler pool is currently undergoing offseason maintenance with no estimated date for completion or opening.”

Parks and Recreation Director Phil Fleischmann said city leaders know this isn’t ideal.

“We recognize that residents look forward to summer, having fun, and cooling off at our pools and spraygrounds,” Fleischmann said. “We share in residents’ excitement regarding opportunities at the locations that we will have open. We continue to work with contractors to plan for and make repairs at Peeler and Lindley. Unfortunately, due to timing and the changing scope of work required, Lindley won’t be able to open in 2024 and a date for Peeler’s opening is uncertain.”

With that said, here’s the city’s summer 2024 aquatics schedule – though city officials note that all the dates listed are “subject to change.”
