Lt. Stacy Morton is no longer employed by the Greensboro Police Department.
Ronald Glenn, the Greensboro Police Department public information officer, stated Friday, “He was separated from the department effective yesterday.”
Morton was placed on administrative leave with pay on Nov. 1, to investigate an unexplained personnel matter.
But, during the NC A&T State University homecoming, Morton appeared to be a member of Israel United in Christ, which is part of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement that the Southern Poverty Law Center has identified as a black nationalist hate group that is anti-Semitic and anti-police.
Morton could be seen in a video available on social media sitting behind several Israel United in Christ members who are using microphones to preach to the people passing by.
One of those speakers repeatedly said that African-Americans are God’s chosen people. The speaker said that Jews are worshippers of the devil and called Jewish synagogues “synagogues of Satan.”
It was after this video became a matter of much public discussion that Morton was placed on administrative leave.
The Black Hebrew Israelite movement is the same group that the shooters in Jersey City had expressed interest in. The two shooters killed three people inside a kosher grocery store before being killed by police. Law enforcement reportedly has not established a formal link between the shooters and the Black Hebrew Israelite movement, but some sects in that movement express extreme anti-Semitic beliefs.
That shooting in Jersey City in which a police officer was also killed is now being investigated as domestic terrorism
Morton, who is 46, had been with the Greensboro Police Department since March 2000 and was terminated in 2004 after he was accused of hitting a man under arrest, but he appealed that termination to the city manager, was reinstated and demoted.
Morton was a lieutenant in the vice and narcotics division and his salary was $81,000.
Maybe there is accountability.
I am an active Roman Catholic and have no interest in or agreement with the Israel United in Christ or Black Hebrews religious organizations.
But is a police officer’s religious beliefs relevant to his dismissal from his work (even if it is true?) That seems ominous indeed.
Would you make the same argument if a clansman was a out in public spewing hate on the side claiming it was this religion?

Wow, how is this matter different from the matters of white racism in state offices and government. Let’s bit into this matter. First of all hate is hate, facts. When one color hates another color that’s hate and racism, ignorance at its best. Especially when there’s only one true God and he created all things, I say this so one will have a clear understanding where I stand on the matter. Now if a black, Spanish, Indian running for the president seat, and it was learned #1. His wife was a porn star, having sex with women. #2 the person running been married 3 or 4 times, filed bankruptcy 4/5 times and don’t pay his workers, that person wouldn’t made it to office, but trump did. #3. Look at those billionaires who donated money to the republican, they didn’t refuse it knowing they’re connected to the kkk. #4 right here in Greensboro the kkk attacks blacks people right here, they drove from Thomasville to Greensboro and killed innocent people, while the white cops took they time getting to the location which isn’t far, maybe 3/6 minutes away. #5 Look how black peoples was rape, murdered and robbed of land, dignity, self esteem, children was taken away and we are still treated like this and what makes it even worse our own kind is killing each other. I am so glad I live in America so we as people could spout off about how certain of our leaders making decisions about moving people who make the horrible decision to align with corrupt people.I do not know the race of the policeman relieved of responsibility or the replies that were made in response to the removing of said policeman, but I will guess that he was black.I have not seen this much concern since the young man was trying to break in his mothers house. My opinion would be the policeman made an unwise decision to align with this corrupt group and was caught. You can’t be part of a group without some of their philosophy wear off on you. This group of people ‘Black Hebrews’ were in Washington as well trying to stir up trouble when the young man by the name of Sandman was accused of being ugly to an Native American .Let it rest Greensboro!!
it’s time to stop all hate if it was a white person he would have been fired that day it happen.the way i see it he couldn’t be in the police dept if he hates the police because the police have to serve all people just like the city council is supposed to do .
