The Guilford County Sheriff’s Department got a lot more excitement than it wished for on Monday, Nov. 30, when a 34-year-old, white female from Winston-Salem, identified as Jennifer Nicole Brown, allegedly went on an alarming robbery and shooting spree that left two Citgo stations disturbed and left one man shot.

The suspect is now in custody, but she had a very active day before her arrest.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department, it started just before 6 p.m. on Monday when Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call stating that there was a suspicious female at the Citgo at 4307 Groometown Road, just off of I-85.

The woman ran into a house on Jarvis Road, and, while inside, stole a gun and a set of keys. She used the keys to steal a vehicle from the home and she drove to another Citgo – the Citgo Quick and Easy Store at 1601 Wiley Lewis Road near Alamance Church Road and I-85.

At that store, Brown allegedly pointed a gun at a store employee and stole some cigarettes before leaving.

The suspect then went into a nearby house. There, she stole another set of keys and chased the homeowner out of the house with the gun. While doing so, she shot him in the abdomen, causing a “non-life-threatening injury,” according to the report from the Sheriff’s Department.

The woman, upon leaving the home, was confronted by Sheriff’s Department deputies and apprehended.

Brown is now facing a very long list of charges that include felony larceny, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and assault on a government official.

Brown was also served by Forsyth County law enforcement officers for other charges in that county that included trespassing and reckless driving.
