The Guilford County Sheriff’s Department reported on Sunday, Dec. 17 that early in the morning on Thursday, Dec. 14, deputies arrived at a house in Summerfield and found a male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The deputies arrived at the home at 5:31 a.m. according to the incident report. They found the victim – who’s injury was discerned to be non-life-threatening. The victim – who was not named in a press release regarding the shooting was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The incident took place at 5409 Thorpe Drive in Summerfield, a small house just North of NC-150 and West of US-220.
The deputies reported the crime as aggravated assault – that is, an assault made with disregard to the value of life or made with a deadly weapon.
Jessica Elizabeth Gray, 22, was later charged with “Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.”
She was taken to the jail in downtown Greensboro and issued a $5,000 secured bond.
Gray has now been released from custody to await trial.
