Freedom Of Speech Applies To Everyone

Dear Editor,

The news is in love with the pro-Palestinian movement, primarily the left leaning news, which is about 90 percent of them. And they are quick to run out like the pack of jackals they are to support them, although they will deny that. But I’m about to say something that will raise the hackles of many people.

Those clowns, many of whom are only following the music of the Pied Pipers who claim to care for the Palestinian people, actually have the right to say what they are saying. I completely disagree with them but they have the right to say it. Some politicians are trying to stifle that but keep in mind that the First Amendment was written to allow for all speech, regardless of if you agree or not.

But what is not brought up is that actions and speech have consequences. You can yell fire in a crowded theater, but you can and will be held responsible for what happens. Freedoms, any freedoms come with responsibilities, and those responsibilities can come with consequences. Yell fire in a crowded theater, people get hurt or killed, you will and should be punished, severely one would hope.

Rights come with responsibilities, but that seems to get overlooked 99 percent of the time. Just because you have a right doesn’t mean you cannot be held responsible for what happens. Our society has seemed to have forgotten this, or (and I hope I’m wrong) just doesn’t care.

I stand with Israel and the Jewish people, and will defend both to the utmost of my ability. But I will also defend the right of anti-Jewish, anti-Israel people to voice their opinion. Note I said voice, not take physical action. As I say, when you scream at me over something you don’t like, I will tell you to look deep into my eyes and tell me if you see a little man jumping up and down yelling ‘I care.’

Hamas, Hezbollah, and their Iranian masters do not speak for or follow true Islam. They are no better or different than any other religious zealots throughout history who use religion for their own purposes.

Again, I stand unwaveringly with Israel, the Israeli people, and the Jewish community.

Carpe diem,

Alan Marshall
