Freedom Of Speech Applies To Everyone
Dear Editor,
The news is in love with the pro-Palestinian movement, primarily the left leaning news, which is about 90 percent of them. And they are quick to run out like the pack of jackals they are to support them, although they will deny that. But I’m about to say something that will raise the hackles of many people.
Those clowns, many of whom are only following the music of the Pied Pipers who claim to care for the Palestinian people, actually have the right to say what they are saying. I completely disagree with them but they have the right to say it. Some politicians are trying to stifle that but keep in mind that the First Amendment was written to allow for all speech, regardless of if you agree or not.
But what is not brought up is that actions and speech have consequences. You can yell fire in a crowded theater, but you can and will be held responsible for what happens. Freedoms, any freedoms come with responsibilities, and those responsibilities can come with consequences. Yell fire in a crowded theater, people get hurt or killed, you will and should be punished, severely one would hope.
Rights come with responsibilities, but that seems to get overlooked 99 percent of the time. Just because you have a right doesn’t mean you cannot be held responsible for what happens. Our society has seemed to have forgotten this, or (and I hope I’m wrong) just doesn’t care.
I stand with Israel and the Jewish people, and will defend both to the utmost of my ability. But I will also defend the right of anti-Jewish, anti-Israel people to voice their opinion. Note I said voice, not take physical action. As I say, when you scream at me over something you don’t like, I will tell you to look deep into my eyes and tell me if you see a little man jumping up and down yelling ‘I care.’
Hamas, Hezbollah, and their Iranian masters do not speak for or follow true Islam. They are no better or different than any other religious zealots throughout history who use religion for their own purposes.
Again, I stand unwaveringly with Israel, the Israeli people, and the Jewish community.
Carpe diem,
Alan Marshall
“Rights come with responsibilities, but that seems to get overlooked 99 percent of the time.” What a self-righteous statement that has no basis in fact except in the drama queen world Alan thinks he lives. A world where he dreams that his is this mystical truth sayer, versus just being a ranting old fool that he really is. Everyone knows that rights have responsibilities.
To be clear….being pro-Palestine or at a minimum empathetic to the suffering of the people at the hands of the Israeli military doesn’t mean someone is NOT also pro-Israel. It also certainly doesn’t mean they are anti-Jewish. It just mean that have compassion and believe there is a better way to address conflict that slaughtering each other.
I am not the least bit surprised that you are all for the slaughter of Palestinian women, children, elderly, etc… Easy to be the big guy pounding his chest about his love of Israel over the civilians of Palestine when you are so far from the crisis of this war and the suffering it is causing on both sides of the conflict.
But you do state; “They are no better or different than any other religious zealots throughout history who use religion for their own purposes.” Couldn’t agree more. Especially with Republicans who claim the US is a Christian nation as if we weren’t founded on the idea of religious freedom. Like the new speaker of the house who has tried again and again to push his version of Christianity on others. Sad to see the US promote such a zealot to the level of speaker of the house.

“I am not the least bit surprised that you are all for the slaughter of Palestinian women, children, elderly, etc…”
After reading your rants in more detail, I am calling you out for the blatant liar (that’s right, LIAR) you show yourself to be with that statement. I defy you to show where I made even a faint reference to being “…all for the slaughter of Palestinian women, children, elderly, etc.”.
I would demand an apology but anything you say would be hollow at least, meaningless at best.
In your opening statement you make very clear what you think of pro- Palestinian people. So it has to be safe to assume (not a lie) that you or perfectly ok with how their suffering is ignored by Israel.
But you be you.
Sorry chrissy but not everyone knows that with rights come responsibility. Take for instance the idiot drivers in our country today who totally ignore traffic laws or the morons who get their hands on guns rights and responsibilities go out the window. People have the right to borrow money for school but then they don’t feel it’s their responsibility to repay it. These are only a few I could put on here but with you it won’t matter. You are such an idiot. Praise to Alan.
Per the wise and wonderful Alan, only 1 percent of people know this great wisdom. Of course it goes without saying, he knows this wisdom better than all and preaches from love. Oh wait. He is just a drama queen conservative that rants that all that don’t think as he does are wrong and evil.
Somebody in these columns certainly likes to rant…

Come on Chris. . .you can do better than that. . . .that’s your opinion, not a fact. Sometimes you start out well in your blurbs, but they tend to slide to the point of telling those who make a post they are not nearly as smart as you. Relax, stop and learn the art of discussion versus chastising others with whom you disagree.
Also, the issue is not the Palestine people per se, but for those who are part of Hamas, etc. The thing is, they are trapped in a world in which thugs like Hamas have taken over a country and are using it like the mob did to our cities in the early 1900s. Why? They hate Israel and are willing to sacrifice their lives and the lives of their own people to achieve their cause of eliminating the Jewish race. Just like Hitler wanted to do in World War II.
What do you think of Hamas shooting the people trying to leave Gaza?
People who seek to deny others the right to freedom of speech always fail to understand that they’re denying themselves of the same right.
I think most of these ugly “protests” are arranged by others. Both they and the protesters know they what they are doing.
All this mud-slinging accomplishes nothing. Just makes people mad.
You’re right that the mud slinging accomplishes nothing. People who insult others with epithets like “nutters”, “bigots”, “angry little man”, “hater” and “moonshine swilling rednecks” bring nothing to the debate (except their own venomous vacuity).
But the debate itself is useful, Miller. Some of the more thoughtful and perceptive commenters have brought up great points that give me pause for thought (even you sometimes!).
So the exercise is definitely worthwhile, even with all the jejune and juvenile junk from Chris, and other geniuses.
