The Camel’s Nose

Dear Editor,

Sleepy Uncle Joe appears to have been reprogrammed by his handlers, the radical socialist/communist left of the Democratic Party (which is about 75 percent of the party) into going for the gold and being their mouthpiece in their drive to repeal the Second Amendment.

They claim they are only after “assault weapons” and “weapons of war,” but their puppet Joe slipped up and started badmouthing 9mm ammunition, implying it needs to be banned as well. This is the beginning of the classic camel’s nose under the tent tactic that the left has perfected to a science.

It’s amazing that they appear to honestly believe that we will all stand by and allow them to interpret any part of our Constitution in a manner that suits their agenda. The comments by Joe are the best example of this.

Do they honestly believe that the majority of Americans are going to stand by and allow their God given rights to be eliminated or watered down to a point that they don’t mean anything? Does it have the potential to go from a war of words to a war of ugly actions? I believe so.

And where is the enforcement of the 10th Amendment? Its whole purpose is to limit the power of the federal government and ensure the states run themselves. But because the public schools, for the most part, have become government indoctrination centers with the mission of turning out good little drones and peons who will simply say, “yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir.” If they want to repeal an amendment, do it to the 17th and return the power to elect senators to the state legislators where it originally was.

The House of Representatives is the people’s representation in the federal government, the Senate is supposed to be representing the individual states and handling those things that affect the states. They were selected by the state legislators, which gave the states more control and also had them listening more to the people. But doing that would take away these politicians’ power and give it back to the people where it belongs. How radical!

Without enforcing the 10th Amendment, repealing the 17th, and, as much as I hate to say it, imposing term limits on members of the House and Senate, we the people are destined to become surfs and peons – in other words, slaves.

Carpe diem,

Alan Marshall
