Dear Editor,
When I reviewed the recently passed Greensboro city budget for next year, I noticed that the largest line item increase in the budget was a 32 percent increase in the executive department, an increase of nearly $4 million, from $12,079,181 to $15,948,470. I had mistakenly thought the police department got the largest raise, which I strongly support.
I do not support a huge increase in the executive department. Given the huge tax increase we were handed last year, this is a time to carefully examine all our expenditures. Increasing the number of staff in the city manager’s office does not pass the smell test. This is an item that needs further review and corrective action by the city council.

James, I agree, but the “executives” will only increase that budget portion…because you pay for it. To all, use your vote wisely.
As somebody so elequiantly said, “You get what you vote for.” Feels great becoming a sh&$hole in NC, don’t it?
There is no limit to the gluttony and greed of government. More bureaucrats! More pay! More parasites!
– Isn’t that just the brutal truth?
They are people who “live off of other people’s’ taxes” as the song says. Parasites – (in purely economic terms). Greedy ones, too.
