Bringing A Gun To A Knife Fight

Dear Editor,

A recent action by the (National Socialist) Democrat party dictator, Skippy Alston, to select handpicked members of his horde of minions to sit on a school spending board without even one Republican is just another sign that Guilford County is in dire need of change in who runs the county.

This is not the first time this has been done and as long as the (National Socialist) Democrat party holds the reins it will continue. Our form of government is supposed to be a Representative Democracy, not a socialist collective.

How many times have we seen Skippy take power and begin bending to the state level power structure? If this were just Greensboro I honestly wouldn’t care, but his actions affect Pleasant Garden and other small towns in the county.

I know that there are people in the Republican Party that cringe when I talk like this, and to a small extent, I understand. But we are quickly approaching a point in the party where our party leaders need to lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.

I realize that statement upsets several people in the party who I consider my friends, and I don’t mean my comments in an ugly way. But we as a party are rapidly approaching a point where it’s time to fish or cut bait. We need to start playing by their rules until they cave and begin working for the people of the county, not themselves.

They bring a stick, we bring a knife. They bring a knife, we bring a gun. And when they finally figure out that we will de-escalate when they do, we can go back to good old fashion mudslinging politics.

The main thing the party needs to do is get back down to hard, bare-knuckled politics, meaning engaging our opponents in open honest debates with open and honest rules and doing your best to shake hands afterwards. And talk to the people, not special interests. And challenge the other side to do the same. Get sources for getting oour word out, not rely on the mainstream media to tell the truth.

I know I have upset friends in the county GOP with my words, but the truth hurts sometimes. If you can’t handle it, get out of politics and let fighters get in. And always carry a big stick and use it only when all else fails.
