Renaming Pennsylvania Probably Next

Biden and his handlers are at it again. They’ve decided that Quaker William Penn is a wicked, evil white man that needs to be brought down, both figuratively and literally. They’ve decided that the statue of Penn and the recreation of his home need to be brought down to create a more “welcoming, accurate, and inclusive experience for visitors.”
And they’ve made it clear that it’s going away permanently!
Pennsylvania was founded by Penn, hence the name, so I guess the next step is to rename the state in order to create a “welcoming, accurate, and inclusive experience …”
It’s also reported that “The public may submit comments within a 14-day period, starting on Jan. 8.” How big of them. What was not reported was that you can submit your comments but it’ll be like urinating into the wind since they won’t pay any attention to anything said against it.
Slowly but surely the (National Socialist) Democrat Party is attempting to dismantle our great country using the old saying about how you eat an elephant…one bite at a time. They go after small things like appliances, names of locations, or choose to ignore things done by their lackeys as long as they fit their agenda, but let someone do something that exemplifies or promotes the greatness of this shining light on the hill we call America and they are vilified by the hippy, socialist, radical, USA hating left.
You have to wonder who or what is next. They’ve vilified the father of our country, George Washington, so does that mean the Washington Monument is on the list? Is Mount Rushmore being packed with explosives because it glorifies a bunch of old white guys? Can you imagine what would happen if someone decided to destroy the home of George Washing Carver? There would be calls for a hanging, but we all know that’s not going to happen because some common sense and decency still rule that side of the aisle.
Maybe we need to take a page from the left’s playbook and surround the statue, chaining ourselves to it, and using whatever force is necessary to stop the atrocity. It looks like using their tactics against them is the only effective method of defending what our ancestors sacrificed for. Our “leaders” don’t seem to consider it very important.
Of the statue I say “Molon Labe”!

As typical, Alan ‘the drama queen’ doesn’t tell the whole story. Penn likenesses will still remain in Philly. The statue of Penn atop City Hall is a landmark, visible from all around the City. And there is another Penn statue at Penn Treaty Park off N. Delaware Avenue at the corner of E. Columbia Ave. and Beach Street.
The current park is a mess and has been poorly maintained. The intent is in no way to cancel William Penn. The land where the park stands was actually given to the Haudenosaunee in January 1755 by John Penn, William Penn’s grandson. In the 1700s, Native American groups often visited Philadelphia for diplomatic and trade meetings.
This is just an effort to highlight that unique history given the William Penn is celebrated widely around the city already.
But haters got hate. Even if they have to ignore the full truth of what is happening. Pull your skirt up Alan. It’s going to be ok. History will remain unchanged due to this proposal.
The only drama queen is you, Chris.

Pat Buchanan is right when he says this country’s in a culture war. The new Left despises entrepreneurs (they disparage them as “capitalists” in their own Marxist terminology), whites, and “evangelicals” – which is their oblique term for Christians.
Leftists also resent individual liberty, because it’s an abrogation of their aspiration for complete control over us. That’s why their hatred of the Founding Fathers is becoming more clear. Washington, Jefferson, Penn, et al understood liberty, and brought a nation into being in the name of liberty.

The left loves individual freedom. You know being able to read what they want, marry who they want, have whatever medical treatment their doctor supports, have equal access to education and employment. You know, the things the Right wants to take away from people they don’t like.

Sure, the left sees big business as exploiting the worker (and the government, and the environment, and the overall economy) for profit but in no way does the left want the State to take ownership of private business. They just want private business to be held accountable when they do things like raise the cost of a lifesaving drug by 10x just because they can. You are as awful a drama queen as Alan.

Just one example of how the Left wants to destroy individual freedom: Yesterday reported that this administration is moving to make “Independent Contractor” status almost impossible. It’s part of their plan to wipe out the self-employed. Such people are independent, and are difficult to control. The state can’t lean on their employer to force them to get a vaccine, for example.
This explains why they’re making things very difficult for small independent businesses, on many fronts. They can’t control them.
Speaking of vaccines, it was the Left in general and Biden in particular who mocked freedom and tried to force needles into your body. Even Stalin & Hitler never tried that.
You are dead wrong. Independent contractor status is being used to avoid offering full time EMPLOYEES full benefits and rights offered to employees. This is critical given the growth of services such as Uber, Food delivery services that bait in drivers then cut compensation which has been the case again and again.
This changes nothing about self-employed lawn care businesses, bakeries, or law firms. These types of jobs are true self employed. You set the income (a bid), you set the hours (the proposal) etc…
But if your wage and work allocation is set by a large international billion dollar company (like at Uber)….you are an employee as you have no control over price of service or even allocation of rides! Uber completely controls the income flow to it’s drivers other than the 60 to 70 hours they work just to make a living.
So, your examples show how Democrats love working Americans and Conservatives love big business. You have been suckered into believing conservatives want to protect small business which is a lie.

The right of two parties to make any contractual arrangements they please IS THEIR RIGHT AND THEIR BUSINESS. The state has no right to insert itself, at least in a free country.
My first job was an an Independent Contractor selling home improvements to homeowners in the UK, and I LOVED the freedom it gave me. I would have had nothing like that degree of freedom as an employee.
And that’s just another example of how the Left despises freedom and works to destroy it.

You are confusing self-employed with independent contractors. Self-employed people negotiate their terms 1×1 but independent contractors are offered a take-it-or-leave-it agreement. Or do you think Uber negotiates individually with each of their drivers?
Another example is IT. We will on occasion hire a self-employed person using a 1099 but most contractors join through a firm where they are an ’employee’ and receive a w2 where payroll taxes etc. are paid.

Total control over an individual’s existence is their goal, but fortunately is failing spectacularly. Look at the polling President Trump is realizing, given all of the unconstitutional “Lawfare” tactics deployed against him. That kind of “BS” is deployed out of fear, not from a position of strength. The dems have no positive achievements to offer voters, government corruption is now obvious, the world is on fire, the economy is imploding, we are overrun by illegal aliens and all “pudding brain” can do is blame the MAGA movement. No moron, that is on your watch. Funny that now the dems are saying, via their complicit media propagandists, that if Trump wins he is going to exert retribution similar to Hitler. Donald Trump didn’t lower your taxes (he actually increased middle income taxes). He didn’t get your roads fixed, or get your bridges built. He didn’t get you healthcare coverage, lower the cost of your prescriptions, decrease the deficit, end the opioid crisis, revive the coal industry, he didn’t make “covid disappear”, didn’t make Mexico pay for the wall, he didn’t “put America first” and he sure didn’t “drain the swamp”. So when you say Trump is your savior, you mean he validated your hate. Because he didn’t do a damn thing for you while in office the first time and yet you believe he will the second time.

Oh…Democrats passed infrastructure bill, lowered cost of many prescription drugs, lowered inflation without a recession, returned the country to full employment, and reduced deficit spending from it’s peak (still a long way to go). And did it all without taking away anyone’s individual rights as you nutters keep claiming he wants to do. The border is a crisis that requires congress and they have refused to pass or even debate the bills to improve the situation at the border.

At the time of writing and posting my letter the only information out there was what I wrote about. When I saw the decision about changing their stance (surprising me that they actually did it) I wrote a comment reflecting that.
Lol you mean you ignored that it was always stated as a proposal and that public feedback was pending. And you ignored the rationale for the proposal as stated based on the history of the park. All that information was available at the time you wrote your silly rant. You chose not to consider those facts as it didn’t fit your preconceived narrative of hating anything Democrat.

You’re right to point out the irony of today’s Left assailing a Quaker. Back in the day, Quakers would have been regarded as unequivocally on the Left, with their pacifism and vehement anti-slavery positions.
But the irony is lost on today’s ignorant liberals. As the bumper sticker says, You Can’t Fix Stupid.
They are now reporting that there has been a change and they are not (at least for now) going to tear down the statute.
