More Taxes, Less Services
Dear Editor,
Wanted to point something out: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years have come and gone with family parking where they could to avoid piles of leaves that have been waiting for pickup.
Greensboro established the leaf pickup schedule before the leaves dropped, so no excuses, please.
Here’s the rub. After passing the largest property tax increase in the nation, right before home prices dropped due to “inflation,” causing mortgage rates to rise, we now watch services suffering.
Yes, in the scheme of things this is no biggie, but it does leave a bitter taste in your mouth, doesn’t it?

It certainly does. While I am in the county and don’t pay City tax rates, the spike in property taxes at our peak property value with no rate adjustment is reason to leave the county. I purchased a farm last year. Time to build a new home and live where the taxes aren’t as absurd.
I hear Russia has some very affordable land for sale.

Many problems can be blamed on the City. However, this is not one of them. In speaking with City employees, the problem is lack of applicants who want a job. Leaf pickup crews are doing the best they can and are working long hours, six days a week. And no, I’m not a City employee.
The problem is, the City is not reassigning some work crews to aid in picking up the leaves. Of course, they will tell you they have limited equipment and vacuum hoses, so additional people won’t matter. To which I would say, have they heard about rakes? They work well and you can put them in plastic bags.
The Parasitic Sector can be relied upon to be incompetent.
Their pay cheques arrive every month whether they were productive or not.
I agree we should toss out the money sucking monarchy…oh wait. Those parasitic people are from your old country.
The Royals bring in many times more money to the UK in tourism, overseas business contracts, and PR than they have ever cost HM Treasury.

Needless to say the City of Greensboro is out to lunch! Building Code Enforcement, Traffic Law Enforcement, Crime Enforcement and any response from any City Leaders including our City Manager, our Chief of Police, Building Code Officials, and our Mayor about citizen’s Concerns receives no response! Our City is Lost, our Citizen’s are in Danger, and it appears no one is concerned?
You can add the animal control. Their message says they’ll be right with you, but they are not. My feeling is that someone is there, but doesn’t want to answer the phone (it might create work).

This is the kind of service you get when Democrats are in charge,or as I remember a phrase: “the prisoners are in Charge of the jails. “There is one hope that if there are any Republicans voters in Greensboro they should get out and vote.
What has happened we have voted the current group to the council as the Peter Principle goes “being voted to the level of incompetence “.
