Are you kidding me?
As reported Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, the school board ended its fiscal year with almost $1 million left in the bank. They said, Oh my, what should we do? Well, they decided to give everyone in the school system a year-end bonus or a raise or both in the next two weeks. What?? That is what they did with almost $1 million they didn’t spend? Are you kidding me? The school board and teachers cry like little spoiled babies saying the county does not spend enough money “for the children.” So when they find an extra $1 million lying around, they decide to give it away to teachers instead of working to improve the lives and learning experiences for students. The county school board obviously doesn’t have the brains that God gives to the lowliest of creatures.
Everyone agrees that students who “learn” remotely are doing worse than kids who are in school. But instead of getting kids back in school, the school board thinks it a good idea to give teachers a bonus! I know. I know. This is crazy right? This has to be one of the dumbest, most idiotic, flagrant displays of selfishness I have ever seen. This is truly a stupid, stupid decision. Schools are closed, people are out of work due to the China virus and the school board decides to give away almost $1 million as a bonus to their staff. What the heck are they thinking? Do we really want these people teaching our kids? Are they qualified in life and basic economics to teach? Superintendent Sharon Contreras, who is being considered for secretary of education in the Biden administration, thinks this is a good idea which reminds me about a line from the movie Forrest Gump: Stupid is as stupid does.
The county school system and Democrat county commissioners pleaded with taxpayers to pass a $300 million bond issue to improve schools. Taxpayers said OK. Now Skip Alston and the Democrat controlled county government want taxpayers to approve another $1.6 billion bond issue for schools. If approved, taxpayers will be on the hook for $2.66 billion including almost $760 million in interest.
How the heck can we trust the judgement of the school board to teach our children or the Democrat controlled county board if they give away almost $1 million to their staff and put us $2.66 billion in debt? As Joe Biden is famous for saying: Come on man, what are you thinking?

Getting Ugly
Dear Editor,
What has happened to this country at the national level? The eunuch acting Republican Party and the (National Socialist) Democrat Party seem to have forgotten, or maybe are flat out ignoring, that the primary mission of the federal government is to ensure the safety and security of the United States of America, not to jockey against one another in their quest for power.
We are seeing hacking of major systems, BS amendments that have no connection or bearing to enhancing or maintaining defense being written into defense appropriations bills, ignoring foreign spies that all but openly operate at the highest levels of our government and, in one case, allowing an individual to sit on one of the most sensitive committees in our government and who maintained contact with the spy right up until the day their association became public knowledge, even though they were notified about the spy long before. You have the top law enforcement agency of the nation blatantly involved in an attempt to participate in what can only be called a coup against the president of the United States.
In all these cases both parties have either directly or indirectly participated or they sat on their hands and were either silent, paid lip service or worked against their own party all because they were afraid of losing power.
On a more local level, state and city officials have sat back and allowed their citizens to be subjected to looting, burning, domestic terrorism and extortion for days and weeks on end by hamstringing, and in some cases vilifying, law enforcement when they tried to do their job. Why? Because they are afraid of being called racists and making a handful of people mad.
Major businesses and governments have allowed themselves to be extorted by vocal minority radicals, aka Black Lives Matter, while ignoring the average citizens in the silent majority. Speaking of which, you, that silent majority, aka sheeple, are the ones responsible for that to not only occur but to continue.
Add to this witches brew is the destruction of the very basis for our form of government, that being a free and fair election process.
The band AC/DC has a song title that says it best, (We’re on the) Highway to Hell. At the rate we’re going I hope to God there’s an off ramp somewhere ahead, otherwise it’s going to get real ugly real quick.

Uh, right. Whether Democrat or Republican, they are both in it for what they can get. Sadly, it has always been that way, everywhere.

I’m ready to tell His Excellency Cooper to take his executive odors (sic) and put them where the sun doesn’t shine. And the same with our control freak mayor Vaughn. She condones rioting and burning, but wants her peons to give citations (resulting in fines) to us for not wearing a mask? I don’t know if Outling would be a better mayor, but he certainly won’t be any worse!
Well, I’m not sure how to fix it, but I know it cannot be done without a lot more people on board. Our two current major political parties weren’t around when our nation was founded originally and neither is what it started out to be. We have allowed the formation of PACs, Super PACs, and huge lobby groups. If you step back and really look at it, Money is at the root of both parties success and that’s what drives our current system. Money and Power above any Ideology. It will not improve until new parties with real values force them out. That won’t happen overnight, and likely not within our lifetime. The younger generations do not value the same morals and principles as us, and many see no value in voting. Many of those that do vote, go with the crap they are fed rather than think for themselves. It is a sad thought, but it would be very difficult to see a major transition of powers without bloodshed. We’re too far in to what we have now to get out without it. Even worse, it may be another entity that takes us over eventually. If that attempt comes in our lifetime I have no doubt many of us will die in the effort to preserve our nation and defend our flag. Death does not scare us, it terrifies the millenials who will be cowering in the corners. I believe it was Tim Kennedy who when told by the CIA that ISIS had placed a price on his head said “Let those cowards come!”
This is another very good instance of a group of people reaching and grabbing hold of the Peter Principal.The Dems as a whole have gotten to the level of “Incompetence “.Please someone explain how the Peter Principle works.
