Graham Goes Back On His Word

Shame on Sen. Lindsey Graham. After the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, Mr. Graham said that he wouldn’t set foot in Saudi Arabia. But he changed his mind after the Saudi Arabian dictatorship bought $36 billion worth of Boeing jets. Of course, these jets are made in the senator’s home state. Dictators shouldn’t have the power to influence American congressmen.

Sorry Chuck, the majority of those jets are made in leftist Washington state. Secondly, if our President had any common sense at all we’d still be energy independent and not need to bow to Saudi Arabia. Politics make strange bedfellows; Graham should have never said never but then he didn’t have a crystal ball to foresee how quickly the current administration would sell our soul to people like the Saudi’s, China, Russia, Venezuela, and even Brazil and Mexico.
We returned to energy independent back in 2021. I doubt it means what you think it means. In the modern era, we have always imported foreign oil.
What has the current administration done any differently than previous to impact energy independence? The President of the United States does not have the power to tell American oil companies where and for what price to sell their oil. We are capitalists. I always kind of laugh at folks who want to make the President the fall guy for everything they don’t like – 90% of which they have nothing to do with.
The president can affect domestic drilling rights and pipelines that deliver oil to refineries. By affecting the supply, the administration has a great deal of power.
Oil leases actually increased under Biden. Pipelines have minimal impact on prices at the pump. That is a long dead right wing talking point.
“Influence” is the diplomatic term for checks and balances.
Neither Republicans or Democrats run this country. Big money run this country.

Lindsey Graham is the best democrat I’ve seen in a while. Keeps the hopeful republicans at the threshold but never delivers, and the idiots keep voting for him. I believe both Graham and Burr voted with repubs in the high 90%. Just because they didn’t always toe the Trump line doesn’t make them rinos.
I have met Mr. Burr. He was a machine politician. I did not like him, but I didn’t like Trump, either. To me, likeability in a politician helps get them elected (like Clinton or Reagan). Both of these men did a good job.
We need a tough SOB in the White House, we got that in Trump.

Do you realize that the Chinese currently own at least One million acreas of farmland in America. Also they are buying up land as near our military facilities!!!!!
