Beach Music may be more popular today than it was 50 years ago, it certainly doesn’t appear to be any less popular and fortunately you don’t have to go to the beach to enjoy it.

This will be the 16thyear of the Children’s Home Society Beach Music series in downtown Greensboro.  The Children’s Home Society Beach Music Presented by Bill Black Chevrolet will once again be held at LeBauer Park which is fitting since the Children’s Society Beach Music series was held there before LeBauer Park even existed as an idea on paper.

LeBauer Park is on North Davie Street next to the Cultural Arts Center and across the street from what will be the Tanger Center for the Performing Arts.

The concerts will be held every Thursday beginning Thursday, May 30 and ending Thursday, June 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with gates opening at 5.30 p.m. for folks who want to get a prime spot to set up their chairs.

Tickets are $10 per person and children under 12 are not only welcome, they get in free.  Children over 12 are also welcome, but somebody has to buy them a ticket.

Beer, wine and other refreshments will be available for purchase.

The proceeds go to support the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina.

The schedule for this summer is:

May 30, Sleeping Booty

June 6, Band of Oz

June 13, Chairman of the Board

June 20, The Embers featuring Craig Woolard

June 27, The Tams

It looks like it’s time to get your shagging shoes out of the closet and dust them off because Thursday, May 30 will be here before you know it.
