Since buying the Rhino Times from Carroll Companies last June, we have been working with the company to complete the transfer one piece at a time. It has been a big undertaking. The Rhino Times is a heavily trafficked site with a huge archive of past articles going back years and years and the site contains other material as well.
Now, our domain name provider, Network Solutions, is about to complete the final step of the transfer – switching the domain name from Carroll Companies to Yost Publications, LLC.
We had hoped that, since the domain name host is remaining the same – Network Solutions – the transition would be a minimal interruption or could be done over a weekend. However, the tech people at Network Solutions have informed me that a domain name host change of a website this size takes anywhere from “five to seven days” and they say the site will be offline and unviewable during that time. Those who go to Rhinotimes.com during this transition may only see an error message, but have no fear: All of the comments, letters, past stories, pictures and other information will be preserved and will reappear once the transition is complete.
We here at the Rhino are very sorry for the inconvenience but apparently there is no workaround.
As soon as we are back up and running, I will send out a notice to our subscriber list, which makes this a good time for me to request that, if you are not already subscribed to our email list, please do so. It helps out the publication and lets you quickly see the headlines of the news of the day when new stories are posted. Then you can click through to read any story that interests you. You can subscribe by simply filling in the information on the annoying pop-up box that often appears when you visit Rhinotimes.com.
Again, we are sorry for going dark for a while but we will see you on the other side.
Best wishes, Scott Yost

Will miss you! Hope you can take the time to enjoy the basketball games! Thanks again for keeping the Rhino Times alive. You are making a difference.
The downtime only takes five minutes but Network Solutions always says 5-7days to cover themselves. If it takes longer than a hour for it to come up then there is an issue, but Network Solutions won’t help until after 7 days.
All good things must be improved on to better serve their users
