I don’t live in Greensboro. Actually, I don’t even live in Guilford County. But I get the most entertainment out of reading the Rhino Times. I knew when the last City Council election was held it was just going to be a great source of comedy for all of us that don’t live in Greensboro, and a source of despair for those who are unfortunate enough to be governed by these people. Wow. It’s racism 100 percent of the time. It’s handouts. It’s arguing about who is the most compassionate. I love reading about it. It’s great hilarity. Thank you so much, Mr. Hammer, for going to those meetings and letting us know what’s going on. Spend money, Greensboro. We love you. God bless.

June 6, the 74th anniversary of D-Day, the Longest Day, I visited the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia, as I did several years ago. Folks, if you have any appreciation for what is left of the Greatest Generation, do take the short, picturesque, especially in the fall, two-hour drive up US 29 North. You will be moved. I had the distinct privilege of meeting some few remaining D-Day vets including a 97-year-old from the triad. Two weeks ago, he jumped out of an airplane with another jumper strapped to him. Nine-seven years old. If the real D-Day had been this past Wednesday, and our guys were all 20-something snowflakes, I tremble to think what the outcome would have been.

Well, it’s Monday morning and still no News & Record paper. What a pitiful mess. It’s a shame to see a good newspaper turn into a liberal smear sheet. And all it does is attack the president because they can’t do any journalism. And now they can’t even deliver a newspaper. And they charge us over $200 a year. And they don’t deliver the paper. Is that fraud, or is not? I think we ought to get Mr. Henderson to prosecute them before he goes out of office. The country is going down the tube.

Recently Walter Williams, conservative columnist at George Mason University, had a very interesting article in our local daily liberal fish wrap. He discussed how African Americans have been deceived by the Democratic Party for literally decades, people. One of the many interesting points he made was that of high crime, murder rates, abortion and unemployment that occurred for the last 50 years plus in Democratic-controlled cities, big and small, particularly in the Northeast. Many of these cities have repeatedly continued to vote in Democratic, quote, leaders, end of quote, for these 50-plus years. Unbelievable. Albert Einstein said it best: The definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.

I’ve called the city and complained about several things, and nothing gets done. The highest taxed city in the state. Anyway, two things. Sidewalks on Battleground between New Garden Road and the Gold’s Gym on Battleground, they’ve got sections that have been missing for six months. This project took a year and a half to complete, just the widening of that road. The other item is that the survey signs out on Bryan Boulevard, both on the east and the westbound sides between Westridge Road and New Garden Road, have been out there 24/7 for three or four weeks. I called in and complained about that. And they had the gall to call me back and say they needed to know the street address. And I said, you mean you don’t understand northbound/southbound side of Bryan Boulevard between Westridge and New Garden Road?

The Democratic Party is the party that is desperate. And they’re grabbing any lifeline they can possibly see. They see under Republican leadership, unemployment all-time low, stock market all-time high, people’s 401(k)’s are through the roof. People are taking home more money in their paycheck. They see that ISIS is all but eliminated. Now we’re starting to see peace in the Korean peninsula. And this is all happening under Republican leadership. They know that they are finished, that their days in the leadership position are over. So they will grab at anything, any lifeline, any bit of scandal, anything they can see, they grab at it. But they are finished.

This is for all you Trump supporters and Republicans that keep saying the Democrats are mad because Hillary lost. Well, we kind of are. But it boils down that it doesn’t matter. We just don’t like Trump. He’s a disgusting, despicable, human being. Doesn’t matter if Hillary got it or not. We don’t like Trump. And something else, and the reason we are mad Hillary didn’t get it is because Trump had the Russians and the Arabs and James Comey help him out. That’s the only reason Hillary lost, and she only lost by 80,000 votes. That’s all she lost by – 80,000. She was winning way up until Comey come on there, even though Trump had help from the Russians and the Arabs. And he even stood on TV on stage and asked the Russians to help him out. Now Hillary won by over three million votes. She only lost by 80,000.

It is obvious the little lying loser Donny has adopted PT Barnham’s famous saying that there’s a sucker born every minute. There’s absolute no other possible explanation why the red-blooded intelligent and patriotic citizen of the United States could possibly have voted for little Donny or continue to support him after his disastrous half year and a half. Also, there’s no such thing as a perjury trap. Claiming that Mueller is setting a trap for little lying Donny is believing that law enforcement set a murder trap for all the recent murders in Las Vegas and several schools. Trump lying and these shooters killing people are simply what these despicable, disgusting people do. It is their modus operandi and is either built into their DNA or learned since birth. No one needs to trap little lying Donny. He is an expert at lying without any assistance from anyone.

Calling about the beeps. There was this lady in there says she’s selling her house because she can no longer afford the property taxes. And that Greensboro is deteriorating. And I totally, absolutely agree with her. She said that Greensboro was having too many low-rental apartments, and that the poor were taking over the downtown. And that crime was taking over. And I totally agree with all that. And the property taxes were so high that she could no longer afford them. And you know that’s really sad. Because Greensboro used to be a real thriving place to live, but it’s no longer. You’ve got the City Council up there that is just basically just tearing Greensboro apart.
% % %
To conclude. Our taxes are so high, and we have no leadership here. Like I said, you ride down the streets, and our streets are full of trash. They’ve got potholes everywhere. There’s nobody doing anything to beautify Greensboro. I mean, it’s just really a mess. And you’ve got people standing on the side of the road begging for money. I think that, you know, it’s going to get to the point where these people are going to get desperate and start trying to get into your cars. I mean, I’m afraid – I’m a woman, and I’m afraid to pull up to a stoplight anymore. Because I don’t know if these people are going to try to get in my car or whatever. I think that this needs to stop. Because it’s a hazard to people that are pulling up. I know that there are rules about that. But so what? Rules are meant to be broken. And desperate people do desperate things. So, therefore, I’m just saying this: We need leadership here in Greensboro.

Yes, I would like one teacher, at least one teacher, who went down to Raleigh and marched to call in, or write a letter, to the Rhino Times and tell me why you teachers don’t organize and go to downtown Greensboro and demand that everyone in the administrative office take a 10 percent pay cut. Anybody making over $100,000 has to take a 10 percent pay cut. The superintendent has to take a 20 percent pay cut. And that money has to be funneled back into the teaching salaries. Why don’t you guys do that? I do not understand why you allow the administrative people in the school system, especially the ones who’ve never taught in a class, why y’all allow them to make the money they do. And, yet, you go to Raleigh and ask the taxpayer to increase your salaries. Why don’t you go down to the administrative office and ask the administrators to take a 10 percent pay cut and see what they say. I bet you they say no.

Responding to the statement about Ms. McCleod of the News & Record not answering the phone. Let me tell you our experience. Ms. McCleod is absolutely the best employee that the News & Record has ever had. She responds immediately. You get your paper. I don’t know what Mars he comes from, or maybe he needs a hearing aid. But there’s something wrong when 100 people has good response and he can’t get his paper. So, that tells you something about Ms. McCleod. And, yet, because of the News & Record will not furnish the help that needs to support her, she’s going to have to find some other employment, because she can’t work around the clock. She has to eat and sleep, too, Mr. Caller, you complained about, just like you do.

This is our second call. We seniors here in Guilford County and Greensboro are being scammed. And the court system is doing absolutely nothing about it. It doesn’t make any difference whether you request a service, or whether you sign for a service, or you don’t get the service. They will zero in. If you ever sell any property, they will zero in and put a lien. And the closing attorney will send them a check for three times the amount that they said they were going to try to charge in the first place. It doesn’t make a bit of difference whether you request, sign or whatever. The court system is not doing one thing in the world about these businesses that are scamming senior citizens here. So, we just want you to be aware that if you ever ask for a service, and if you don’t even ask for it, you’ll be scammed. And they will then take your good money from your sale of any kind of property.

Hey, Rhino. Yeah, I’m reading your article about the Yourse case. Whoever signed off, city councilmembers, mayor, whomever signed off on giving this fool $95,000, two things should happen. Number one, they should be fired. Immediately. Every one of them fired who voted to give this guy $95,000. By the way, $30,000 of it went to unpaid child support. What a loser he is. And, secondly, you should be forced to pay that money back to the taxpayers. And I’m pretty sure I know who it was that voted to give this clown this money. And I also read where the officer who was forced to resign is suing. I hope they win. And they’re only suing for $25,000? I would sue for well over $95,000.

Editor’s Note: Mayor Nancy Vaughan and Councilmembers Marikay Abuzuaiter, Sharon Hightower, Yvonne Johnson, Nancy Hoffmann and Mike Barber voted to give Yourse $95,000. Councilmembers Tony Wilkins, Justin Outling and Jamal Fox voted against the payment. However, Outling and Fox voted against it because they said that Yourse should not be required to pay the back child support. Wilkins voted against it because he was against paying Yourse.

Mr. Hammer, I have a question I hope you can answer for me. I was in the library near New Garden Road about noon Tuesday. There was a sign on the door for a meeting room, New Garden Road meeting. I asked the librarian what the topic was, but the librarian couldn’t answer. Just said go on in. There were two men and one woman at the table with two maps on the table. I directed questions at them, various questions, but got no answers from anyone about what the meeting was about. I just wanted to know what the meeting was. I kept asking different questions but got no information from any of them. Then, a short time later, a man and a woman came in towards the table where the people were not answering my questions, and the man who appeared to be in charge of the meeting told me that I would have to leave, that the couple had an appointment. And I should leave. Can you tell me what that meeting was about?

I always find it amusing when liberals point out that Timothy McVeigh and Adolf Hitler were nominally Christian, as they try to deflect from the obscene atrocities of Islam. McVeigh’s and Hitler’s religious beliefs, if they had any, were irrelevant and incidental to what they did. McVeigh chose the anniversary of the Waco massacre to blow up the Oklahoma federal building in an overtly political action. He did not scream, “I do this is the name of Jesus Christ.” But Islamists commit their atrocities explicitly and unambiguously in the name of Islam, whether screaming Allah is great, or freeing those who recite Koran verses whilst killing “infidels.” Islam is the reason for Islamic atrocity. Liberals also whine that only a minority of Muslims are extremists. So what? Not every German was a sadistic Nazi Gestapo officer either, but we ultimately had to fight that evil, as we shall have to fight today’s manifestation of evil – or else be subjugated by it. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose. Just sign me off as An Independent Thinker.

I’m calling about Roy Cooper being on TV with his ad saying he wants to move forward in his ad about the teacher’s pay and this, that and the other. I would like to know, where has he been in the past two years – other than when a disaster happens and he’s out there with Nancy Vaughan and her meltdown self? And he’s been no governor. The only other governor that I’ve known in my lifetime that’s been worse than him was Bev Perdue. I mean, he’s not a governor. You never see him unless a disaster happens. He’s brought no jobs to North Carolina. He’s just a no-show governor. He’s living up there in that governor’s mansion hiding out. And he wants to be reelected. For what?

Nothing ever surprised me about the Obama administration, the criminal administration. The diversity program that was initiated with the Federal Aviation Authority is unbelievable. They just wiped out the 2,500 people who were capable and started hiring people based on diversity with no experience to bring your airplane that you fly in down to the ground or up in the air. Amazing how they just disregarded your total safety for diversity. But this should come as no surprise, because as the onion gets peeled on the Obama administration, we realize all of the criminal activities and shady activities that they participated in. Let’s look at that Promise Program in the school district. Wondering if that program is here in North Carolina. I’m not sure. But it was in some of those other places.

Regarding the so-called spygate investigation, perhaps your readers need to remember the Patriot Act passed after 9/11, which instructed the FBI to trace calls from Americans to adversarial nations or groups. If I, or any of your readers, called Putin or one of his all-dark associates, we would be traced also.

It’s the Grammar Scold Guy again. Believe it or not, I really don’t like having to make these calls. And you don’t know how many grammar, spelling and punctuation errors I’ve let pass over the years. But sometimes I just see a mistake so glaring, so egregious, that I have to call in about it. The latest example is May 31 issue, page 15, fourth column, second paragraph. Uncle Orson wrote, quote, running more than three hours, many people felt that, quote. For someone who purports to be such an outstanding writer as Mr. Card deems himself, you would think the least he could do is spot a dangled modifier. And if he, himself, couldn’t spot it, where was the editor who should have seen it immediately? So, I’ll just close with this: If you guys want to hire a good editor that really knows his stuff down there, I’m available.

I would like to say this about the City Council not giving the firefighters a raise to $15 an hour. You know, it’s a shame that this is even going on. They want to give McDonald’s employees $15 an hour, but they do not want to give our firefighters $15 an hour. That is a disgrace. You know, the firefighters, and the policemen, they are the front people that we deal with. I mean, there’s a situation, the police are called, and the firefighters are called. Whatever. You know? And these people do not get any money at all. And I’d like to say this to the City Council, they need to give the firefighters a raise, and they need to give the policemen a raise. Because them City Council people up there, they sure do make more than $30,000 a year, because if they didn’t they wouldn’t want to be elected.

I heard that our beloved governor has turned down the state budget saying that he wants to put more money into education and teachers’ salaries. Well, my question is, where in the world is all this money coming from that so-called Education Lottery that the legislature passed and allowed to come into? Probably those greedy people that are down there in Raleigh had to get their grimy hands on that money and they spent it somewhere else. Education is a wonderful thing. We need it. We need good teachers. So why in the world don’t they put the education lottery money in education?

I’m sick of these teachers. I realize we have to have good teachers, but they only work nine months out of the year, and they still gripe about their salary. The firemen and the police officers, what would happen if they protested down at Raleigh and took a day off? No. The thing is, when these children get out of school, they can’t read or write. And don’t ever talk to college kids, because they don’t know what in the world they’re talking about. And put a microphone in front, all it is is mumbling. I’m sorry, but the teachers should buck up and do more than they’re doing and teach the children.

There was an article on county funding with tax dollars for nonprofit groups. If you think nonprofit groups don’t make money, think again. All you have to do is look at the salaries made by those who operate these groups. Many of them, right here in Guilford County, Greensboro and High Point, are well above six figures. So I would suggest this to the county commissioners: If you’re going to fund these groups, fund only those that are staffed by 100 percent volunteer labor.

Yes, this is for the caller last week that commented on the apartments that burned where the five children were burned to death. I, too, feel for the family. In the June 7 Beep, a caller said they disagreed with Mr. Hammer’s statement that you need evidence to investigate a wrongdoing. That makes me think this person needs fake news to investigate a crime.

I’m just curious about one thing. DJT, Donald J. Trump is incorrect, why he would want to pardon Muhammad Ali who refused to go in service.
