Discrimination. Did someone say discrimination? Poor people are the most discriminated against people in America. They’re told they can’t live in certain neighborhoods. They’re told they can’t go to certain clubs. They can’t eat in certain restaurants just because they don’t make enough money. Poor people should be able to live in any neighborhood in Greensboro that they want to live in. If they can’t afford it then the government should subsidize the rest. These people should not be punished because simply they don’t make enough money. It’s just not fair. These people should be helped and there should be government help for them. Investors in Greensboro need to look at land for sale and build low-income, income-restricted housing.

Hello. What I’m about to say is not a joke. I am being absolutely serious. Only in High Point, North Carolina, is a building demolition considered a family event. That’s right. High Point is going to demolish a building to make way for its baseball stadium and has decided to turn it into a family-fun day. Come down and watch the building being demolished. There will be food trucks, games for the kids, even a marching band and some speeches. I’m not kidding. This is the sort of thing that takes place in High Point, and they wonder why nobody wants to live there or open a business there.

This is hilarious. Hey, John, on Rhino Shorts this week you mentioned the Wrangler headquarters has been in Greensboro for years. VF Jeanswear is the legal name. And their headquarters moved to Panama years ago along with about 40 to 50 jobs. Panama has a law if you do not manufacture in Panama you pay zero tax. So these people – VF Jeanswear is not going to pay that 35 percent to 40 percent corporate tax or 20 percent corporate tax. It’s about 100 other companies, US companies in Panama doing the same thing, saving taxes. Congress needs to wake up.

Hi. I live in Greensboro, and I have a TV antenna to get the broadcast channels because I can’t afford cable TV or satellite TV. About a week or 10 days ago, Channel 2, which is the CBS channel, just disappeared from the air. What’s up with that? I believe the FCC has a requirement that these companies provide broadcast channels for the people who can’t afford cable TV or satellite TV. I wish someone would look into this. Thank you. Bye.

The Affordable Care Act has been in place in this country for six years, seven years? My insurance, health insurance premiums, have not gone up anymore than $100 a month in that time. That is the very highest it has gone up. So, you’re telling me that when Donald Trump takes over as president, and he’s vowed to do away with the Affordable Care Act, that it doesn’t cause uncertainty in the market, which is going to cause anyone who provides health insurance to raise their rates even more than normal? I was reading the latest Rhino Times, last week’s actually, and I agree with the Republican who called in about Bruce Springsteen using Greensboro as a platform to promote his political views and then going and playing in Charlotte, the same state. I thought burning cans were illegal in the State of North Carolina and Guilford County, and I often wonder as I drive down Drake Road towards my home, why everybody else here has one, and starts burning trash after school in the afternoon. There has been complaints made to various parties, and I’m told that I’m supposed to have the Fire Department come out to talk to these people. You want to run a firetruck out here at nighttime on little roads? But some nights you feel like you’re back in the Middle Ages, all smoky, choke. The birds are falling out of the tree. It’s really bad. This is air pollution at its best. So, why do we have burning cans? Thank you.

Good morning, Greensboro. Well, just another nice day on Yanceyville. People running red lights, passing stopped school buses, speeding. And I just want to thank the Greensboro Police Department and the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department and the City Council for doing a fantastic job for messing up Greensboro. You’ve done a fantastic job. These people are putting these paper license plates up in their back glass, you can’t read them, cause they’ve run out. They don’t have any insurance. They don’t have any – probably no driver’s license. I saw one yesterday pulled up beside me. His was August 16 of last year. And the Police Department does nothing about it. So, if you get run into by one of these people, you are going to have to take care of your car yourself.
