Total Care Realty works hard to make the house hunting experience a pleasurable one.  The office at 1110 Grecade St. in Greensboro is a large open space outfitted with comfy overstuffed couches and wide screen TV’s.  If you didn’t know better, you might think you had stumbled into your neighbor’s den down the street.

Owner Larry Story said he has worked hard to create an inviting, relaxing atmosphere for people wrestling with the decisions involved with what may be the largest purchase of their lives.

“We push the limits on service,” said Story.  “Ninety-five percent of my personal business is from referrals.”

In addition to handling residential properties, Total Care also handles commercial and farmland purchases.

To help facilitate these sales and make the process smoother, Story has embraced the latest technology and outfitted his business for the convenience of his client.

One of the most innovative ideas has been installing a virtual reality room.  Armed with high tech photography equipment featuring six camera eyes and three lasers, Story spends several hours photographing a listing and loading that data into the company’s database.  Customers are then able to sit back in the comfort of the office, don a headset and look at any pre-scanned property that is currently available.  This process eliminates the expense and time involved in traveling to see these properties in real time.

The process is so realistic that sellers need to make sure that they’ve taken care of any errant dust bunnies before having their property scanned into the system.

This has also provided for some great father- son bonding time, as Story’s 17-year-old son, Caleb, who wants to obtain a degree in IT studies, collaborated with his dad as they were getting everything set up and installed.

Story is so excited about how this service can benefit his clients that he is hosting an open house on Saturday, June 16, from 1 to 4 p.m.  Folks can stop in, choose a handful of properties and take virtual tours.  There will be agents on hand to answer any questions they may have and refreshments will be served.

Story is quick to point out another source for Total Realty’s success – the agency’s 16 agents, one of which, April McCollum, joined the company about three months ago.

It would certainly be an understatement to say that April is motivated, as she can lay claim to closing on over 90 properties in the past year.

That spirit of productivity is echoed in Story’s statement, “Going above and beyond is our standard operating procedure.  I am constantly trying to think of what I can do for my clients long term.”
