Flying in and out of airports can be a hassle, but one thing that can make a trip easier is having free parking at the airport you use because parking can be expensive and inconvenient.
However, there’s now hope. During February, March and April, Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTIA) will be giving away a week of free parking and a FastPass membership to one lucky winner each month.
Winning would put you in good company: Representatives elected to the US Congress get a free spot at PTIA, as do members of the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority, the board that runs the airport.
Those interested in the perk can register this month and then come back in March and April for more chances to win if they aren’t the first lucky winner. The contest offers three chances to win one week of free parking at PTI plus a one-year FastPass membership.
Airport officials are using the contest to publicize the benefits of the parking areas at PTIA after a lot of renovation in recent years.
“If you fly from PTI, you know that parking here is always easy and affordable,” a PTIA press release states. “Now, we’re making parking at PTI even better.”
With less passenger traffic than other large airports in the state, PTIA has always been more convenient when it comes to lines and parking, and the airport has spent a great deal of money in recent years to revise the parking system and renovate the parking decks.
With FastPass, a flyer can skip the parking lot lines before or after air travel. A special FastPass decal on the vehicle is scanned electronically when a driver enters or exits an airport parking lot. Parking fees are then automatically charged to a credit card, with receipts delivered by email.

You can enter once a month in February, March and April.
PTI is awarding one prize per month for a total of three awards and winners.
The winners get a FastPass membership and single-use, one-time voucher for one week – seven days – parking at PTIA. Any fees for parking over one week, or $70, will be the responsibility of the winners.
Vouchers are good for one year after the date of award and aren’t transferable.
Darn good idea on how to promote your facility without costing you anything but time. This kind of stuff is GOOD, FREE publicity.
No need for that. I park on the tarmac.
