The High Point Public Library is hoping for great weather this weekend – no more of this rain – when it hosts the 2022 outdoor Community Festival in the library parking lot at 901 N. Main St. in High Point.

The afternoon festival will take place on Saturday, May 28, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The event will feature a variety of dance, music, vendors, kids’ activities and cultural performances.

And the price – absolutely free – is very agreeable right now at a time when people are starting to faint from surprise every time they fill up their cars with gas.

The outdoor festival – which is billed as fun for the whole family – will include performances by the Suah African Dance Theatre and the Guilford Native American Association.

It will also include the High Point Rockers’ popular Mascot “HYPE,” and a charcoal drawing demonstration provided by Lester Felton.

Interestingly, tickets will be on sale for $1 for attendees to win an air fryer raffle.  No indication was given as to how the library arrived at an air fryer as a grand prize for the afternoon.

No festival would be complete without food and, at the May 28 community festival, some tasty items will be available for purchase from a Wingz and Thyngz food truck.

This event is open to anyone who wishes to attend.
