It’s a good thing for the Democrats that they replaced President Joe Biden with the much younger Kamala Harris because on the campaign trail – especially in these closing few weeks – they’ve needed someone to keep up with the breakneck campaigning pace of Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump.

To cite one example: Trump just spoke in Greensboro not long ago and now his campaign has announced that the former president is returning to the city two days after Halloween.

Trump will hold a rally in Greensboro on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m.  Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum at 1921 West Gate City Blvd. in Greensboro.

While the rally won’t start until that evening, the true MAGA faithful often show up very early to meet, converse, and demonstrate their support for Trump.

The visit shows the importance of the State of North Carolina’s 16 electoral votes, which could determine the next president if the race is as close as the polling says it is.

The last time a Democrat won the state was back in 2008 when Barack Obama won by the slimmest of margins, and, though some argue that “North Carolina doesn’t swing,” the Trump campaign is trying to cover all of its bases in the final stretch before the election.

Earlier in the day, Trump will also hit Gastonia, North Carolina, where he’ll speak at the Gastonia Municipal Airport.

The Kamala Harris campaign has North Carolina in its sights as well.  Harris will appear in Charlotte, also on Nov. 2.

Harris likes to bring some big names with her when she holds rallies, and her event in Charlotte will double as a concert. Actress Kerry Washington – known largely from the ABC series Scandal – will speak at that rally. Musicians– including Jon Bon Jovi and Khalid – are scheduled to perform.

Trump last came to the Greensboro Coliseum on Tuesday evening, Oct. 22, and spoke for about two hours.

In Greensboro in October Trump went off course occasionally but hit on his big issues of the economy and immigration.  Trump argued then that, by ramping up fracking in the nation, energy prices would come down.

He also, of course, threw in some of his old favorites – like claiming that Harris is “stupid” and that Biden has been the worst president in history.

And, if Trump seems to go off on a long tangent on November 2, remember that he’s not “rambling”– it’s all part of a brilliant “weave.”
