On Wednesday, Nov. 2, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department reported that there had been a shooting in Guilford County the night before.

However, the department didn’t provide much specific information in the press release announcing the incident.

It only states that, “On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 11 p.m., Deputies from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the southwest part of Guilford County, NC regarding a shooting.”

Usually, the releases from the department related to shootings will state a specific address or street name and provide more details.

The release does add that, when deputies arrived, they came upon a victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound.  That victim is expected to survive after the effort of EMS, firefighters and deputies, who responded to the scene to provide emergency medical treatment.

According to Sheriff’s Department officials, the victim was transported to a hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries.”

The press release didn’t state which hospital.

This is an ongoing investigation and the Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for help.  Anyone who can provide information regarding the shooting is being asked to call Guilford County Sheriff’s Department Detective J. Allen at 336-641-2799.

People can also call Guilford County Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000 if they have information they believe could be helpful.

The City of Greensboro, the City of High Point and Guilford County government have all been seeking solutions to gun violence in recent years, however, this type of incident is still highly common in Guilford County and in the cities within.

This comes in the wake of a mass shooting in Raleigh last week in which seven people were shot and five were killed.
