On October 8, 2020, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office reported that, just before 8 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a call regarding a possible assault victim on the 3600 block of Cannan Forest Road in Greensboro,
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found a male victim who was deceased from “obvious traumatic injuries to indicate he was the victim of a homicide.”
That murder victim four years ago was Anthony Kristopher King, a 20-year-old black male.
This week, the Sheriff’s Office announced that, on Tues. Sept. 3, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Investigative Unit made an arrest from that murder investigation that began in 2020.
Howard Hakeem Banks, 22 years old, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder under NC General Statute 14-17(A) as well as Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon under NC General Statute 14-87.
Banks is now being held in the Guilford County jail in Greensboro under a $1,000,000 secured bond.
Those exact same charges have been filed against Amari Alan Jackson, a 22-year-old who was already in prison for a separate offense.
Though the sheriff’s officers feel they’ve caught their men, they are still seeking information on the homicide from anyone who knows anything.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact Detective J. Robertson at 336-641-5969 or call Guilford County Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
This is where the term “the usual suspects” comes into play. This fellas were apparently no strangers to the courts. I can see the news interview already… “They were good boys who were in church every Sunday, and were only out late doing the Lord’s work.” If terrorizing the taxpayers and killing folks counts, oh wait.. that cant be right. Nice try Granny.
When we see these incidents, I’d love to know if they were part of a Cure The Violence program.
Well. . . .most of that citizen money went to sitting council members and their family and friends on and very little impact on crime. And remember, the initial “contract” was more than $1,000,000 dollars and was reduced each year afterwards. So, there’s no telling the net worth of these cling-on people these days, but it guaranteed votes for the incumbents on the council every election year. See how this works?
The murders were committed when they were teenagers (18). I am curious about the home situation. Was there a father in the home?
