The Guilford County Sheriff’s Department reported on Friday, Sept. 24, that officers had been notified of “an incident involving a juvenile” and a former school worker.

While the department didn’t include much information in the Friday press release, it did provide some basic facts and let members of the public know that, if they have any knowledge of the case, they should contact the department and give that information to a detective.

The release states that, after the department became aware of the indecent liberties complaint, officers investigated the claims and made an arrest.

Connor Earp – who is a former employee of the Guilford County school system – was charged after that investigation with one count under North Carolina General Statute 14-202.1, which is “Indecent Liberties with a Child.”

Earp, a Greensboro College graduate in his mid-20s, was an assistant football coach who worked at Northern Guilford High School for nearly four years.

According to his LinkedIn page, he previously worked as a groundskeeper for a recreation center and as a waiter in High Point.  He also worked previously as an usher at a concert and events venue.

Earp, whose picture can be seen above, was issued a $25,000 bond.  Currently, he’s being held in the Guilford County jail in downtown Greensboro.  According to department officials, the Earp matter “remains an ongoing investigation at this time.”

The press release states that anyone who has information related to the case should contact Detective J. Allen with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department by phone at 336-641-2799.

Alternatively, they can call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000 which is completely anonymous.
