If you want something, you should ask for it.
Right now Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTIA) wants to be named the Best Small Airport in the USA Today Readers’ Choice 2023 Poll.
This is a national contest that will mean excellent publicity for the winner, so airport officials are asking local media to let area residents know that they can vote online for the Best Small Airport.
Even being nominated is an honor, but airport officials want an outright win this year.
“For us to succeed, we need the help of our community,” a Thursday, Sept. 14 press release from PTIA states. “This award is up for grabs among 15 small airports. Once the contest ends on October 2nd, the winner will be chosen based on the number of votes they have received.”
If you do think PTIA is the best small airport in the country, you can vote for it using the following link:
You can vote up until noon on Monday, Oct. 2.
USA Today points out some very nice features of PTIA, including short lines, sparse crowds and eight rental car options. The newspaper also stated that PTIA lives up to its “Fly Easy” motto.
Voting is possible on all web-enabled devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.
You can vote more than once – in fact, you can vote once a day, which is exactly what PTIA officials want you to do.
They also want you to spread the word.
“Support your hometown airport by voting for us daily and sharing this poll with your family and friends,” they urge.
The winner will be announced on Friday, Oct. 13, a day airport officials hope will be lucky for them.
The can “win” my absence. Many of you will like that.
But they have degraded service, from parking to security. In addition, their fares are uncompetitive and their facilities are minimal.
No thank you.
More non-stops and international flights from RDU or CLT. At more competitive rates.
Wonder where the term “vote early and vote often” came from, Mayor Daley?
