They say be careful what you wish for, and Greensboro, High Point and Guilford County might have to start thinking a little about that advice because yet another company has decided to locate in the area – bringing lots of new investment and creating yet more jobs.

PartnerHero – a consulting firm that provides businesses with outsourced services such as customer support, quality assurance, software development, the implementation of artificial intelligence tools, and other services that help companies analyze various business metrics – has chosen Greensboro.

The company’s functions explain its name: PartnerHero.

The company has announced that the company plans to hire 200 and invest nearly $7 million into a new operation at 7900 McCloud Road in Greensboro.

PartnerHero is one of many companies that have come to Guilford County in recent years and those businesses are creating a need for more infrastructure, housing and workforce in Greensboro, High Point and Guilford County.

Helping convince the company to locate in Greensboro was a joint effort to say the least: The Guilford County Economic Development Alliance, the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, the High Point Economic Development Corporation all worked together with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, City of Greensboro, Guilford County, Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas, Guilford Technical Community College, and Guilford Works to secure PartnerHero’s investment in Guilford County.

According to a statement from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, the company’s selection of Greensboro “reflects a strategic decision to align with the city’s growing reputation as an attractive destination for businesses” and the company “is committed to “embracing sustainability in its operations and fostering strong partnerships within the local community.”

“Creating strong partnerships is critical at every stage of economic development, including strengthening our workforce and providing economic opportunities to North Carolinians,” said Gene McLaurin, the chairman of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina’s Board of Directors. “North Carolina’s highly skilled and technical workforce provides the talent innovative companies like PartnerHero need and look for to be successful.”

As to be expected, both Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan and Chairman of the Guilford County Board of Commissioners Skip Alston were delighted with the decision – and both put out very positive prepared statements soon afterward.

Vaughan stated that the city was “honored to welcome PartnerHero” and added that she’s looking forward to the economic opportunities this will bring.

“Their decision to establish its facility in Greensboro underscores our dedication to fostering an environment conducive to business success and innovation,” Vaughan said.

Alston, too, said soon after the announcement that this puts Guilford County and its business environment in a very positive light.

“PartnerHero’s decision to locate their operation hub in Guilford County reflects the ongoing strength of our technology ecosystem,” Alston said. “Our county’s capabilities and digital focus are among the many assets that make Guilford County an attractive choice for global technology leaders like PartnerHero.”

With a Toyota battery plant, a supersonic jet maker, a biomedical kidney treatment company and a new business that helps implement AI, all in the Greensboro area or announcing plans to come, the area is getting something of a reputation of being a place for high tech.

It’s hard for anyone who grew up in Greensboro to think the words “cutting edge” would ever apply to the area, but Greensboro and Guilford County starting to form a business vibe of that kind.

Vaughan has told the Rhino Times earlier this year that the companies that come here do a whole lot of research about the workforce to make sure the available workers can meet their needs before it gets there.

Steve Chrabaszewski, the COO of PartnerHero, certainly doesn’t seem to have any concerns about the quality and tech-savvy nature of the area’s workforce.

“As we grow our company in a competitive industry, it’s important we have access to diverse talent,” he said. “As we looked at locations across the country, it was clear that Greensboro could offer a winning combination of a thriving tech cluster, respected educational institutions, and a welcoming community.”

Sherri Thomas, the chair of the board of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, was also very enthusiastic about the announcement.

“We are thrilled to welcome PartnerHero to Greensboro’s thriving business community,” she said.

She added that, as the city’s information technology industry grows, its “talent networks and top-ranked business climate” will help draw more leading companies to Greensboro.
