Guilford County is opening a new Primary Care Clinic in the middle of this month, and the Division of Public Health is celebrating with a public open house on Friday, Nov. 14.
The clinic, located at 1100 East Wendover Avenue in Greensboro, will officially open its doors with a day of free health tests and screenings from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will feature no-cost confidential testing for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and Hepatitis B and C, along with free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index (BMI) and blood sugar. Everyone is invited to attend, and no insurance or appointment is required. Advance registration is available; however it’s. not necessary—walk-ins will be welcomed throughout the day.

Jordan Wilson, a health educator with the Guilford County Division of Public Health, said the open house is meant to help residents get familiar with the new clinic and the services it provides.
“Our Primary Care Clinic open house will help community members understand their health numbers and their impact on well-being,” Wilson said. “With education at the heart of prevention, we are committed to providing the tools and resources that support a healthier Guilford County.”
The county says the new Primary Care Clinic is designed to expand access to affordable, ongoing health care for all residents.
Nurse Practitioner Constance Foushee said the clinic’s goal is to make preventive health care more accessible and more personal.
“Your health story starts with knowing your numbers—blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and body mass index,” she said. “We invite everyone in the community to join us for this event, where early detection and awareness can make a lasting difference in preventing serious health conditions.”
The Division of Public Health describes primary care as an essential part of preventing and managing chronic diseases. County officials say the new clinic will help fill in the gaps for residents who need a regular source of care and guidance for managing long-term health issues.
The clinic offers annual physicals, sick visits, immunizations, wellness exams, health promotion, and chronic disease management. Appointments will be available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at both the Greensboro site on East Wendover Avenue and the High Point location at 501 East Green Drive.
The county says everyone is welcome, regardless of insurance or income, and that the Nov. 14 open house will serve as both a grand opening and a chance for residents to learn more about the wide range of preventive services the new clinic provides.
