On Tuesday, July 2, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office announced that, on Monday, July 1, at just after 9:30 a.m., deputies responded to a call at 5520 Forest Road in Greensboro to investigate a death.
Upon arriving on the scene, deputies discovered the body of 47-year-old Chancy Beck, a female resident of the home. Beck was deceased – apparently due to stab wounds.
During the investigation, deputies arrested 28-year-old Zachary Small for First Degree Murder. Small was also a resident of the home. The report from the Sheriff’s Office states that the arrest was “without incident.”
The Sheriff’s Office has yet to release much information regarding the case but did state, “This incident is considered isolated and domestic-related, with no threat to the community.”
The investigation is ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Office states that no further information will be released at this time.
Small is currently being held at the Guilford County jail in downtown Greensboro without bond. His first appearance was scheduled for July 2.
