If you regret that, since you’re an adult, you can no longer have fun like you did in recess as a kid – well, Greensboro Parks and Rec has just the thing for you.
And, unlike elementary school, it will even include adult beverages if those are to your liking.
“The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department’s Adult Recess” will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 16, at the Barber Park sprayground which is located at 1500 Barber Park Dr. in Greensboro
The ticket price is right – free – and the event is only for adults 21 and over.
Don’t try and sneak in if you aren’t old enough because identification will be required for admission.
According to the city’s description of the festivities, “The event will feature all playground games like four square and tetherball, adults-only sprayground access, music from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, and a photo booth.”
Adult beverages from Hidden Gate Brewing Company and food will be available to purchase.
If you want to learn more about this or other events going on in the city throughout the summer, you can visit the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department’s website at www.gsoparksandrec.com or call the city’s Community Engagement Coordinator Jennifer Hance at 336-373-2864.

Cool. Austin can be the bully calling everyone childish names at an actual recess like when he was a wee lad. And Alan can follow him around like his little side kick cheering him on.
Oh my Chris. My feelings are hurt. Austin and Alan are as Opie said “my kind”. You left me out of your rant, you little “liberal wanker “. But anyway cheers to Austin and Alan. Keep up the good work my friends.
Na, teacher keeps kids like you in time out.
Chris kids like me were the ones who would hold your head in a toilet flush 2-3 times and make sure you had the perfect “swirley” and to be clear we never apologized for anything he smell
Exactly. bullies with lack of discipline, morals and of low IQ. Got it. Weird thing to brag on but you be you.
Cheers Rebel!
Chrissy’s comment is pure fantasy, emanating from the imaginary world he lives in.
He REALLY needs psychiatric help.
Austin please tell Chris that we had lots of discipline
We never drowned anyone
We certainly had lots of discipline in my home. As a boy, I knew where I stood, as did my brother.
But in school we’d give an almighty kick up the arse to little wankers who everyone despised – but it would only happen when the wanker got mouthy (we called it “Bolshie” back then). No masters patrolled the playgrounds during break….
Chrissy could use a swift kick up the arse. Today we call it a “reality check”!
Have a good one, Rebel.
The contributor named Chris has mental health issues, and has developed an unhealthy fixation with me.
I pray he seeks out psychiatric help.
No sense of humor? Awww come on Aussy. Laugh and live a little. Lol
please add music from the ’50s, ’60s & the 18th & 19th century
And please make sure Chris doesn’t show up. I can get insulted at home, without having to be around him.
Ain’t that the truth, Wayne? He hurls insults and smears at everyone else, then complains about “childish insults” when he gets some back.
Some people like dishing it out, but can’t take it.
I don’t complain about them as i promise I don’t take them seriously. I just call them out for what they are.
But to be clear, your hatred of LGBTQ, Immigrants and belief that Africans are genetically less intelligent i.e. inferior) is well established enough by your comments here that your label as a bigot is valid, accurate and a good fit for you.
But go ahead and answer the question. Your false statement that Africans are genetically less intelligent than Europeans, does the include African Americans in personal belief?
************
Dear Readers:
This individual has developed a vitriolic animosity towards me. He has been continually humiliated in arguments we’ve had, and has developed a huge grudge against me.
I think he has mental health issues.
For the record, just GOOGLE “African IQ vs European IQ” and you will see the truth laid out for you. This was a debate “Chris” and I had long ago, and he has never been able to get over the fact that he was comprehensively proven wrong in his assertion that all races possess absolutely identical intelligence.
In his febrile desperation to protect his insecure inner child, he is now trying to beat me over the head with some kind of accusation of bigotry, or “hate” or whatever he’s talking about.
They are all completely baseless smears.
He needs to let go of his anger, forget about the debates he’s lost so badly, and seek professional help. He is actually getting worse every week.
So, answer the question:
In your false argument that Africans are genetically less intelligent than Europeans, does this include African Americans?
Hint Aussy….just because you can find bigoted that align with yours online doesn’t make them true. Funny to claim to win an argument where you never addressed any of the counter arguments that invalided the bigoted view of genetics versus social factors in academic success of various cultures.
You are and always will be a bigot. Your rhetoric of immigrants, LGBTQ, and now Africans makes your narrow thinking very clear to readers. (I assume it is just you and me in this thread now). So answer the question.
But you be you.
I don’t know what you’re talking about, and neither does anyone else.
Go back to your imaginary little world in your imaginary little brain, you pitiful little tosser.
Make sure Brodrick Crawford, Jack Webb, Harry Morgan, Martin Milner, and Kent McCord are patrolling nearby streets.
Alcohol at Barber park. What could possibly go wrong?
Who’s paying for this?
Why is it necessary to have “alcoholic” drinks at the public games day? This makes it okay for children when they reach that acceptable age of drinking in family parks, setting example of what is okay when one turns 28 or 21. With the problem of alcoholism and drugs, why make it promoted as “fun”? Will the participants then be tested to assure it is safe when the happy people drive home on city streets. Would it not be a good idea to promote that having safer, healthy fun doesn’t include alcohol. If adults need alcohol to have fun, do not take a chance of drinking & driving, depriving others of fun, encouraging drinking, which is a major cause of death by the drinker or victim.
We may have to “park and rec” elsewhere. Sometimes, we drive down Friendly Ave while in town to shop or visit, sometimes stopping in Quaker Village. Driving thru the center, I noticed five young men sporting black T-shirts with a big white “F*^K YOU” on their shirts.
At almost the same location, I passed a girly-boy sporting a minimum of clothes, pink hair, and gaudy make-up; while leering at passing cars. That is third time I have seen the virtually the same thing in Quaker Village parking lots; all within a week or so. Is Quaker Village now a pick-up spot for parking-lot cowboys?
Now, this is what our society produces.
On another note, I just looked at my 2024 statement from the BIG CIGNA, our friends in the Medicare business. Allowing for my annual deductible, the BIG CIGNA paid $427 of my annual Rx expense. I paid $1,620. Such a deal. But wait! I paid $693 in premiums. So I lost money on the whole thing. This insurance is LESS than worthless, it is ONLY of value if you reach the catastrophic level, where they pay 100%. Before you reach the catastrophic level, your total out of pocket will be $5,030, plus the premiums – reset every year. Very few reach this level, I know two relatives who have done so.
And, my premium this year is $936, applying higher co-pays. What do they pay for a $30 Rx – ZIP. Even less than less than worthless.
Finally, I have an Rx that retails for around $53 in this area. This if for a brand name. There is a generic equivalent that retails for $25. I can pay less for the generic retail price of $25 than my co-pay for the brand name. The BIG CIGNA will not approve the generic, which would save us both money. Any idea of why? I have a possible explanation. Last Sept, the FTC sued Cigna, UHC, and CVS for inflating the price of this type of Rx. The FTC alleged that these firms profited by pocketing discounts they had negotiated for the higher priced Rx that they steered their customers (me) to buy. The fix is in. The Big Pharma fix is in. No wonder the cost of healthcare is ruining lives.
Yet another example of inflated prices everywhere due to runaway spending (inflation) with fiat money created de nada. Hyperinflation is the final gasp of a socialist/marxist government. It will bankrupt the Country, and most everyone in it. Prepare. Am I a doom and gloomer? No. It is up to the voters.
Man, everybody needs to just chill out. Not everything has to be a fight.
Right! All these personal ugly mud-slinging attacks accomplish nothing but to make people mad. I don’t think this would often occur if everyone were together in a room. Everyone disagrees with everyone about something.
Yes, but most of us can disagree without being disagreeable. Discourse and debate, when civilly and constructively conducted, is how we find our way to truth. There is one person here who prefers to habitually insult others, and he drags down the quality of debate, since this sparks retaliatory insults and debate descends into playground spats. But we mustn’t let this odious individual prevent us from discussing the issues and gaining insight from each other.
Yes. Aussy, you really need to stop your negative behavior here.
Grow up.
pastoralists get my goat.
Good one!
