A former teacher at Caldwell Academy in Greensboro is facing a felony charge after Greensboro police say he had an inappropriate personal relationship with a student.
According to a news release issued by the Greensboro Police Department on Friday, May 29, Michael Roberts Bozmarov, 31, was arrested Thursday following an investigation conducted by the department’s Family Victims Unit.
Police said the investigation began after a report was filed with the department on April 9, 2026.
As a result of that investigation, Bozmarov was charged with one count of felony indecent liberties with a student under North Carolina law and under provisions of the state’s Protect Our Students Act of 2023.
Following his arrest, Bozmarov was taken to the Guilford County Jail.
Police said he made his first court appearance on Friday, May 29, when a judge set a secured bond of $30,000.
Authorities haven’t released additional details about the allegations, including the age of the student involved or when the alleged conduct is believed to have occurred.
The charge comes just a few months after another local private-school teacher was arrested on unrelated allegations involving minors: In late February, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a teacher at Vandalia Christian School following an investigation that began after a cyber tip was forwarded from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Child Crimes Detectives with the Major Crimes Investigative Unit began investigating a report of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor after receiving the tip through federal authorities.
That teacher at a Christian school was charged with ten counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and was held in the Guilford County Detention Center without bond at the time.
The allegations in the Caldwell Academy case are unrelated to the Vandalia Christian School case, but in light of quite a few similar cases in Guilford County in recent years, it’s worrisome that these types of stories do seem to be occurring often.
The Caldwell Academy case remains under investigation.
