On Tuesday, March 12, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department reported that, on Monday, March 11, just after 2 p.m., department deputies answered a call to 4701 McConnell Road in McLeansville regarding a reported shooting.

Before deputies arrived, a 24-year-old male allegedly involved in the incident had fled the scene.  He was later seen and detained on Mt. Hope Church Road near the vicinity of Millstream Road.

That 24-year-old male was found to have been wounded by a gunshot.  He had a single gunshot wound and Guilford County Emergency Services took him to an unnamed local hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries.

Currently, he’s in stable condition.

Other Sheriff’s Department deputies who responded to the call on McConnell Road found another man – this one a 21-year-old – who was also suffering from a single gunshot wound.

That wound was determined to be non-life-threatening.

The man was transported by Emergency Medical Services to an unnamed are hospital, where he was subsequently treated for the gunshot wound and then later released.

According to the report from the Sheriff’s Department – which didn’t provide any other details – the investigation into this incident is ongoing.

“This is an active investigation and there is no further information to release at this time,” the report from the department notes.

 The department’s statement did add that sheriff’s officials believe there’s currently no threat to the public related to this incident.
