In recent years, Guilford county has been putting a lot of love and attention into county-owned parking lots and decks. Most recently, the county began projects to repair and renovate a below-ground deck and a parking lot at the county-owned Truist Bank Building in downtown Greensboro, as well as the deck under the Old Guilford County Court House right next door. And, on Tuesday, Sept. 27, the Guilford County Purchasing Department sent out an invitation for bids for parking lot renovations at the Sheriff’s Department’s District 3 Office in Jamestown.

If you own a company that does that kind of work and you wish to apply, bids will be taken by the Purchasing Department at 201 S. Greene St. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20.

As with all county building and renovation projects, the participation of minority- owned and women-owned businesses is strongly encouraged.

The District 3 Sheriff’s Department branch is a satellite office at 211 Hillstone Drive in Jamestown. It services the towns of Pleasant Garden and Jamestown as well as some unincorporated areas of Climax and neighborhoods outside the city limits of Archdale, High Point and Greensboro.

About 30 Sheriff’s Department employees work out of the building including 4 detectives and 24 patrol deputies.

A pre-proposal Zoom meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. for bidders on the project, and a walkthrough of the parking lot is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Bidding documents, drawings and specifications are available for viewing on Guilford County’s self-service automated bidding system at https://guilfordcountync.munisselfservice.com.

A bid deposit isn’t required for this project and Guilford County “reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.”
