Should human kids have all the fun when it comes to hunting Easter eggs?
The City of Greensboro definitely doesn’t think so, and, to that end, on Saturday, April 1, the city is holding an Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs – and no that’s not an April Fools joke.
The annual event will be at Griffin Recreation Center at 5301 Hilltop Road in Greensboro. There’s no charge for entry, but registration is required.
Not just any dog can participate. All canine visitors to the event have to show up leashed and be up-to-date on their vaccinations. Also, female dogs in heat or unneutered male puppies aren’t welcome at the egg hunt.
It is being held in April – a long time before Halloween – however, there will also be a canine costume contest as well, so be sure to dress your pooch up as whatever you want since costumed dogs are very funny and the dogs always seem to enjoy wearing the costumes very much.
The costume contest begins at 9:15 a.m.
Winners will be chosen for the most creative and funniest costumes, and there will also be a best overall costume selected.
After the contest, dogs will hunt for treat-filled eggs in Griffin Dog Park. The hunt will take place from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m.
There will be other things going on at the event as well that morning. For instance, food vendors will be onsite and participants will be provided with a “take-home craft to do with your dog.”
People know why, and what, dogs sniff.
